The release of A16 was on the 13th of July last year.

The announcement of A17 was on the 18th of September of last year. At least, that's when the thread was opened. Actual development started earlier than that of course.

Roland said in October 2017 that they were shooting for A18 to be the last alpha, but it could be A19. Then beta, which Madmole has said will be short due to them squashing every conceivable bug as they go. Then release.

It's unclear whether the final alpha would also mean the start of beta or there would also be a beta update.

Alpha 13 was out December 2015.

Alpha 14 was out March 2016. (3 months)

Alpha 15 was out October 2016. (7 months)

Alpha 16 was out June 2017. (8 months)

It's been 6 months since then.

So if we estimate 7 months between major updates:

A17 in March 2018

A18 in October 2018

A19 or beta or release in May 2019

Beta or release in December 2019

Release in July 2020

January 2019 is my guesstimate. This might be the last "giant" patch we get, what more is there really after this? Fine tuning, graphical, balance, etc. Some things added here and there. I'm just going by their road map. Maybe 1-2 more alphas then beta. Gonna be a sad day when no more alphas to look forward to.
