I'll ask again; is the loot quantity/quality altered? Yeah, I get it. Zombies still drop loot. But do they drop loot as much as before?
Can’t say as it is currently being worked on. Will it end up being about the same or less? I’m in the same boat as you waiting to see what happens.

With all due respect Roland. You are normally even keeled and it usually takes a lot more to rile you up. Now that it's been a couple of days, re-read this and think on it. You literally could have said #1 & #2 and everyone would have likely moved on.
I’ve reread.

If my response seemed more stern than normal then it is because I don’t take false claims of insider knowledge for doom and gloom statements lightly. Bloom has not responded to my personal message to him so there is no update to be had unfortunately.

I agree that 7D2D is one of the worst when it comes to "timely" updates, but they are also one of the best when it comes to content when those updates happen which offsets things a lot IMO - but in the case of A17, isn't part of the problem that they also did a unity update which in turn broke a bit of the existing coding for the game that had to in turn then be updated? If so, maybe past history shouldn't be applied to the delay in A17 - JMO

They've been through a Unity update before in the past, and it took extra time for the subsequent alpha to come out. When it did, it took an alpha or two to get a few of the really stubborn kinks worked back out. It's no small feat.

Not sure why they would bother when it's this close to gold.

I think it's more fun to randomly speculate. Shaking my crystal ball...... on Madmole hiring those devs 6 months ago, tasking them with "do x,y,z" and then taking a backseat or going on vacation or playing with his beard. He's got bank now, he can enjoy it some, and he's hired professionals to do the hard work of the next alpha and updating to the new engine. He can focus on what he truly enjoys and leave the nuts and bolts to someone else. After they say it's mostly working, and ready for his playtesting he steps back into the picture. By this time A17 has already been telegraphed to the forums, because he starts working on the PR/streamers. He then gives it a proper playthrough and discovers it needs significant changes. Slated bug fixes they needed time to correct are taking longer than anticipated and is compounding efforts with the redesigns he's requested.

That's the story I just made up, and I'm sticking to it.

I think it was more the false claim that A17 is “a mess”....
Um how could it be a false claim? Mess is not a Quantitative measurement but a Qualitative measurement. So there is no way you can prove it is a mess or otherwise because it depends on each person reference on the matter. Basically you deleted his post because you did not like his opinion. Be honest and not try to claim something is false when there is not way to measure if something is a mess or not.

Everybody can say they have sources from within the company, it can neither be proven nor disproven, yet it gives the claim an uncertain additional weight. No reason why the company should condone statements like that on their own forums, particularly when the claim is unflattering. Were I a moderator, would I delete such posts as well, but with no more than a professional explanation, and not accusations.

First of all, I did not delete his post. It was another moderator on the team who did so. Secondly, if he had said "In my opinion, A17 seems to be a mess and probably will be delayed to 2019" there would be no problem. Instead, he posted "According to a source, A17 is "a mess" and won't release until 2019"

The first is just his opinion and readers can dismiss it or agree with it and I have no problem with that.

The second is a claim to special knowledge which presents the information he is giving as a fact. It is how false rumors get started and because I know that nobody on the internal team would characterize A17 like that, I know that it is a lie designed to create doubt and perhaps make himself seem more important.

Again, the fact is that A17 is progressing well. In my opinion, it could be released today as an experimental build. But it's not my decision and the owners want to get it more polished before releasing it even as an experimental branch. That is their right.

I am honest. When I disagree with something I post a rebuttal. It's what is happening right now in response to your post. The only things I delete are insults, libel, and spam.

Rookie software development mistakes. The try and cram to many changes into each patch. Alpha stages should be 1-2 major additions then you test these added features and the point releases should be fixing major bugs. Adding in 100000 features/changes at once can compound your issues more. They Unity Engine change should of never been in same release to public as a major over haul in game core mechanics. I did same type thing when I was working alone and it worked out fine. But when I got a job that oversaw a team I learned fast that what I was doing was actually bad.

Well since only info I had to go on is your post saying you deleted cause of false claim saying it was a mess I had no idea it was what you just said above in being a claim from inside source. So false claim was inside source and not mess comment which since the post was deleted and only partial quoted in your reply I did not have full context.

I appreciate you trying to keep me honest. ;)

I just came here to say that almost every single parent can measure "mess" as a unit.
You don't even wanna know what would have happened if bloom would have said it was a hot mess. Shiiiiiit....

Okay I'm curious to that as well. If the amount of loot got drastically reduced (which fits the whole 'you-don't-get-crap-from-zombies-anymore'), then technically zombies still drop loot..

i never loot the zombies. I sell wet concrete blocks for 37000 tokens per stack of 500 en buy everything from the trader. I never loot houses also. Its to hard when you join a server on day 2000.

Requests for release dates are considered off-topic in this thread. There is a thread in general discussions where you can talk about release dates. Don't THINK for a second that additional requests for release dates won't be moved outa here.
I'm more interested in the Release Time. If you could put it in Timestamp notation, that would be swell.
