When did you start playing 7 Days to Die?

I am curious when did you first start playing 7 Days to Die? Was it way back during one of the early alphas, or did you just discover it recently?

For me, it's always fun to hear how people found the game, whether it was through friends, YouTube, Twitch, or just randomly on Steam. I love seeing the different stories and how the game has evolved for each of us over time.

What Alpha did you start playing 7 Days to Die? I started playing back in A9. Who remembers the crafting grid? 🤣

A11 or A12.... can't remember which. Saw the game advertised on steam and thought, "that sounds freakin awesome". It was awesome and is, by far, my most played game on steam. I dont play nearly as much as I used to, but every time there is a new update I get hooked back into it.

I started around A14 or A15 but watched Kage long before then. I was very afraid to leave my base and only played with friends, but I loved the game regardless and still do. Also, congrats on your new role :)

A6 December 2013. My son and I had been following the Key auctions for Rust and were waiting for it to be released on Steam. But then we found this other game that seemed like a mix of Rust and Minecraft. We chose this one and never ended up ever buying Rust after all.

A16.4. played it with a group of friends, we had a huge world where we slowly took it over. At 1 point i was tired of dying all the time, so i mined tunnels between all of our bases, some of them were kilometers apart lol. My favorite section was when i went under a river and had to make door sections to keep the water from flooding, and i had to build the ground up so that i could successfully complete my tunnel.

I started playing back in A17, although I had been watching the game for years on YouTube before then. Still going strong many thousands of hours later. :)

I think my first time was beginning 2014 iirc, A6 i think.
oh wow A6 that was a long time ago! That's awesome

Having a miner in the group is great. I wasn't really into mining, but more exploring. Being able to see tunnels underground km and traveling in them is so fun. Especially when you can now drive through them. We had someone do that as well in one of our playthroughs. The tunnel went soo long! Imagine flooding that whole tunnel

I want to say around 2011 -12 ? it was a very early version not sure which... I was looking for a zombie type game I saw it mentioned on a gaming forum somewhere and i downloaded it and thought man this is different and fun.. then I forgot about it after a while then i rediscovered it around 2015 on pc and the it came out on ps4 been hooked ever since. For me maybe the best survivor/builder game Ive played and never get tired of it. Maybe the most hours Ive put in on any game.

A15 or so, I bought it for myself though I had been playing on my husband's account for a bit. He had started playing console with friends when that was released. Anyway, I really liked it, so got it for my account. I fell in love with it in A16, and actually was successful playing where, in A15, I had spent a lot of time dying to everything and getting frustrated. 16 was just more of what I was looking for. I hated A17 and didn't play much beyond deciding that I hated it, but oh wow... A18 came along and that's when I started introducing it to all my friends. Co-op play was just outstanding in A18. It was a LOOONG alpha, so I wound up trying out Darkness Falls for the first time and things began to get good. It's only gotten better though, I honestly spent most of my 9k hours in overhaul mods, or in the experimental versions. Oh yeah.. and I'm not what you'd call a 'normal' player, since I'll be 70 next year, and I'm a grandma. All my kids and grandkids play 7 Days, too.

I purchased the game in 2015. I'm not sure if I started playing then or not though. I was interested in the game because it looked like the closest thing to the Walking Dead tv series. I do remember spider zombies could still crawl around on POIs at that time. I would hide in upstairs bathrooms in POIs at night listening to the spider zombies crawl around outside screeching.

Here's a satisfyingly long tunnel for you, heh.

I always tell myself I'm going to decorate my tunnels like a real mineshaft with the lanterns, supports, rails. Maybe one day. :P

I bought the game on June 10, 2016. That appears to have been A14. I played the game occasionally thinking it had promise until A18 when I finally felt it was good and then with A19 I stuck with it.

A20.5 for me. Someone got it and said it was good and it was on sale for about $7 USD, so it was an easy purchase. Considering how many hours I have gotten from it since, it is one of my best game purchases.

Alpha 9 after reading a Rock Paper Shotgun post about it. Kage848 was one of the first people I watched for tutorials and such, as he was always good about actually explaining what he was doing and why.

It was A13 for me... Looking back over the years i would say that the most hours spend on one alpha would be A16 with overhaul War of the Walkers. Followed by A19 Darkness falls

A16.4. I'd watched the game for years (since the days of the crafting grid, sharp rocks and sticks), and said that if they ever added powered traps, I'd buy it. They added powered traps in A16, so I bought it.
