I haven't wanted to play with a full set of any armor type yet because I mix and match based on play style. Since the new sets were added I have found my go to load out is.

Assassin hood - Sneak damage boost
Athletic Shoes - Run Speed boost

Preacher gloves - Zombie damage boost

Preacher outfit - Zombie damage resistance

I just can't bring myself to go a full set, because Preacher gloves and Athletic Shoes are just too good not to use in my opinion.

I typically use ranger with the biker gloves (the ranger set is pointless once you are past early game), but I've found that none of them are all that important and often don't worry about what I'm wearing until I can craft Q6.  I play spear all the time except horde night or of I get into trouble.  And I don't switch armor for horde night or any other reason.

Rogue Hood - Faster Looting and Loot Bonus
Lumberjack Outfit - Additional Open Inventory Slots

Biker Gloves - Plus to Melee Damage

Lumberjack Boots - Less Stamina usage while sprinting

XP hat; I like the idea of the food drain reduction, but once you get to meaningful numbers, food problems are way in the past. Enforcer hat for barter / marathons.

any of the +damage gloves (it ain't that massive even at Q6, much less before)

run speed boots

outfit for pockets. Once unneeded, whichever tbh.

Type depends on how bothered I am with run speed / if I have the "no slow in combat" book.

And of course the roll cage for reading, and if cba gloves for mining etc.

The last I made notes...

Assassin Hood

    Night Vision Mod
    Treasure Hunter's Mod
    Banded Armor Plating Mod
    Customized Fittings Mod

Assassin Outfit

    Bandolier Mod
    Armor Quad Pocket Mod
    Banded Armor Plating Mod
    Customized Fittings Mod

Assassin Gloves

    Armor Quad Pocket Mod
    Armor Triple Pocket Mod
    Banded Armor Plating Mod
    Customized Fittings Mod

Assassin Boots

    Impact Bracing Mod
    Armor Quad Pocket Mod
    Banded Armor Plating Mod
    Customized Fittings Mod

My go to is:

  • Nerd Goggles:  Love that extra XP
  • Nerd Outfit:  The chance for extra magazine points is no joke.  It really pays off, especially once you have Q6.  After I've got all the magazines I want I switch to Preacher Outfit
  • Preacher Gloves:  Extra undead damage
  • Rogue or Miner Boots:  I like having the extra safe fall distance.  Hate those sprains and breaks!

I like to do a lot of sneaking - my normal go-to is:

Assassin Hood

Assassin Outfit

Commando Gloves (that ranged damage bonus)

Assassin Boots

I wear a preacher outfit. Although there is also a farmer's set, but I only wear it when I do something in the garden.

I wear Nerd outfit, gloves and shoes.  But for the helmet I go with the Raider and put an intelligence mod in it.  I don't care about maximizing perks.  I like how ludicrous I look and once I hit level 6, it doesn't seem to matter what I am wearing.

Honestly, a full set of raider armor is my go to.  I feel invincible in my way too aggressive playstyle.

I'm playing with a mix of light and medium armors this playthrough.

Ranger Hat

Rogue outfit

Preacher Gloves

Athletic shoes

Mostly because it looks like something a person would actually wear. I do like the run speed of the shoes.

I really don't have a set outfit

My current set is

Nomad helmet or Commando

Commands outfit or Raider

Athelet gloves

Biker books or Ranger boots

I don't ever bother with changing armour. When you start a playthrough you need to make some primitive stuff, i like that as it makes you not be too naked. As the game progresses I will wear whatever looted armour I find.... But only once. I  never bother with the whole "mini game" mindset of constantly upgrading/changing armour. I'm in a zombie apocalypse, not a clothing simulator

I pretty much use what I find, later in the game I get a max quality farmer set in storage with my seeds next to garden plots and a max quality nerd outfit in my vehicle to read mags on the go. Better 1 slot wasted on that than 15 slots on all different mags I tend to hoard. 🫠

Almost the same, except I dont do any other than light.  Same principle, I am in an apocalypse where running some times is the best defense.
