What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever died in a game?

Yesterday I generated a new world, which I always do after dying. I spawned next to a wasteland on a tiny patch of pine forest and had to take a few steps just to actually be fully inside the forest. And of course, I stepped on a bomb right as I opened the interface. Didn’t see that coming. Boom. Dead. Instant legend. Pretty sure this is my fastest death ever and also probably the dumbest.

I was doing a low tier POI from ZZTong and backed up after drawing the attention of a group of zombies, only to walk into a mine I didn't see. It didn't kill me but caused me to dodge/jump from surprise and hit another mine that did kill me. ;)

Besides to my own traps, taking on Army Post #7 infested woefully under equipped. However it is my favorite death as I got to watch my body get crowd surfed by every zombie down there. Took me back to my concert days.

When I was first starting out, I didn't realize zombies did damage to blocks. or that you could repair them. I built a simple shooting platform with cobblestone legs and thought "That's great. I'm ready". But on horde night, the zeds broke through the legs and I came tumbling down.

Once years ago I chopped down the bath curtain in a bathroom and the rail at the top fell on my head and instantly killed me. I’m always worried that it will happen again.
I have a similar fear when it comes to setting up wooden spikes every time I put them up, I’m afraid I’ll step on them. I’ve noticed that I’ve almost stopped using them. I place them, then run around in circles because those little ■■■■■■■s are fast on Nightmare Speed, and I often forget that I even set them up. Sometimes zombies manage to avoid them, yet I still end up stepping on them myself…

You know, it's been ages since I've seen anyone do that. Used to see people die by dropping an antenna or something on their head fairly often, but it never seems to happen anymore.
Yeah. It seems that was toned down a lot at some point. Mining was literally gambling your life away if you hit anything above you. The death by curtain rod has never happened again but I always treat them like zombies now: hit and jump back haha

I got killed twice in the exact same spot in in an early 2.5. There is a house where if you
take an alternate route, then there are 5 zombies in an attic, the volume only spawns when
you climb the ladder and step onto the floor, Like a panic room situation. I died the first
time, in the dark. Went back to get my backpack on the far side of the room and and spawned
the same 5 back, and got hit so much I couldn't retrieve the backpack before I died again.
Restart day 1.

Ahh, I know that pain. I was playing with friends, but we were split up at the time and I was doing a mission solo. There’s this POI, I think it’s 2 skulls. The building is kind of half-demolished, with missing walls in some places.
At the beginning you see a door if you walk up to it, the whole floor collapses and you fall down where zombies are already waiting for you. It’s really hard to get out of there because it’s tight and cramped, and along the way there are even more zombies waiting for you.
I definitely died around 15 times. My backpack was down there, and every time I went back, the trigger activated and I couldn’t escape. My friends came to help and when they did, green screamers also showed up. They died along with me a few times it was really hard to get everyone out with their backpacks, but in the end, we finally managed to do it.
To this day, I still avoid that POI I never even finished it. 💀😅

Back when i first started playing multiplayer servers, sometime during the last ice age, i lost an item due to a roll back and the admin said they would spawn it in for me. When they teleported to me the game spawned them on my head and instantly killed me. We were both extremely confused. We spent the next week joking together in the discord voice chat about them being an admin abuser and they said they would spawn a zombie bear on me if i wasn't careful.... the bear also spawned on my head and insta-killed me.

Good times.

What a crushing defeat. :)

Hard to say. I've had a lot of stupid deaths over the years.

The most recent one was at Army Post #7. In the area in front of the entrance to the main building, there was a hole in the floor that led to a toilet room in the basement. I had seen the hole but didn't close it. Later, when I wanted to fight a group of zombies outside, I fell into the hole and all the zombies in the basement woke up and stormed into the toilet room.
