I actually agree with the OP.

Every time I build the drawbridge, I cringe cause of the even number of blocks.

7 blocks wide = good

5 blocks wide = good

6 blocks wide = !@!FL#

Just use it like the entrance to a carport with a side door into the base. You can even have a drawbridge on either end, allowing you to drive in and then drive back out without turning around. Easy peasy!

If you also notice most of the prefabs are an even number, I have no idea why they do this, everything should be odd numbers so you can have a center block.

I hear ya OP - the only valid structure, anywhere, in anything, here, in game, in other dimensions or universes is odd-blocked. How this isn't universally accepted I'll never understand.
