PC What is the "UV" in Building Block shapes?

Hi,   I've noticed that when browsing the Building Block custom 'shapes', a few of the shapes have the text "UV" on the bottom left corner of the preview image, accompanied by some axis arrows.

I'm wondering what is special about these. Like, what is the significance and/or meaning of the "UV" text?

Examples of a few block shapes that have this:

   "Cube 1/2 Local North Face Outside"   ,   "Stairs Filled"

Off the top of my head, that means that they allow light to pass through. Which is useful to know when you are setting up solar panels or a garden and building a protected area around them.
