What I "try" to keep in mind when making a design suggestion/critique

When I post I try to keep in mind a goal of making the game retain its flavor but appeal to as many players as possible.. It isn't about me making suggestions to make the ideal game for "me", Such a game might not have as many users as I would think. That doesn't mean I won't make bad suggestions or ones the FP disagree with. But I try to keep in mind the best thing for the game and myself as a person who loves playing 7D2D is to help suggest ways to broaden the appeal. And in doing that I wpn't get mad my ideas are not used I am just trying to offer feedback that might help. And I stress "might" because I am not a game developer.

I love that 7d2d is easily modable and so within its niche I just want the best base game to hold on to as many players as possible not just the ones who share "my" vision of it.

I try to separate suggestions for the game from what I want from the game but I am definitely not perfect. I do think it serves the game best though if I at least try to separate what is good for the game versus what is good for me.

Admirable, but impossible imo. There is the veterans with "old systems" carved in their brain that they hold grudge against FP for ever removing them. There is veterans that go with the flow but with 1000ds of hours in the game dont recognize the inevitable fatique or burnout because of playing the game so much There is veterans that actually like the direction FP. There are the new set op players that just dont know where the game came from and dont care. There is a new batch of players that play on console. There is a new generation playing that likes a game not being to "complicated". And i bet there are dozens of more different player groups. As some people here "speak up for the majority of players" they just use that to make their own preference more important. Because they cant speak for them, because they dont know them. And every suggestion you make that you think will be good for the game will have a counterpart of players that would hate it. That's the dilemma the FP are facing. They cant make everyone happy. Ever. So what they do is stick to their vision. Always have. There will never be a homogeneous group of players that will be in agreement of everything they do.

So again, its admirable but an impossible task.

I appreciate those who are willing to post constructive suggestions rather than hate and ridicule, and those who are willing to accept that different people have different opinions about the game. Thankfully, most people here tend to be that way. I'm not saying they will not disagree or will be open to changing their minds, but they are constructive and don't get upset about people disagreeing with them. It is nice that you strive for that as well.
