PC What do you do for horde night?

I just repair my blade traps for the first hour. After that the horde is no more,

so i just go collect the lootbags, alt-tab and read the forums.

Me and my two mates are always fighting the 7 day horde face to face on a cleaned up area.

We are building a small emergency tower ( e.g. 4x4 rows of spikes under a 6x6 iron bars,5 block high floor)

In that case the new AI is not effecting us unfortunately.

But we are struggling with performance cuz the zombies are not moving sometimes and we don’t know why.

It feels like that the radiated are causing the problem so we changed from 32 to 16 and know we are at 8 zombies blood moon count.

A little bit boring in the moment but we hope that it will change when 17.x fix that.

"Run Forest Run"
The amount of drugs taken would explain how forest ran so quickly....
lol I don't always take those I actually only did it for the video, they aren't necessary xD.

Before I went back to PZ till A17.X I would take a nice long relaxing ride on my bicycle and daydream about what bizarre forced contrivances can be added to 7D2D in order to remove the remaining 'avoidance' methods of surviving/bypassing the horde nights amazing and compelling gameplay value. (Water, all vehicles, putting points in cardio/stamina etc.) Should be fun to see in a schadenfreude kind of way.

I did this last game I started:day 7 horde:

Bars are upgraded from wood to iron, and got iron spikes. Not much else changed from the day 7 defense setup

I have been using this POI I found.

Put some barb wire and spikes and eventually blade traps and you can shred the zombies with a bow or guns.

I'm not sure how it will work with iradiated zombies, I haven't faced any yet. At the least it's a good starter base.

Looks good, it has a place to park your vehicles, a place for a small farm and a nice strong wall that you can upgrade :p plus plenty of space inside im sure that remodel and keep things organized

Yes plus all the zombies path down the ramp into my killbox. If you like bunkers you should be building them like this I think.

I don't think there is a wrong or right way to do it.

Just like always. Built a fortification and defend it.

In A16 it was a fight cage - 10 x 10 pillar 50 cage with a cap on top to stand and shoot on, with an iron bar overhang, surrounded by 3 rows of spikes. Some on top shooting, some of us inside bashing faces as their heads went through the bars.

Now that doesn't work because of the insane concentrated block damage, so we just build a fort. Ideally we take over the ranger station and completely fill the lower floor + porch with cobblestone. This time, we took over a house POI and made a 4-block thick wall all the way around the perimeter we wanted to protect (farming in the front yard.) Iron bar overhang, but this time we make it 1 out horizontally and 2 up vertically so that spiders can't jump up from the bailey.

Around either one, we put an outer wall that has a shooter platform in the center (3 x 3, tall as the wall with a 1 block walkway, iron bars) flanked by 2 1-deep 6 x 4 pits on either side. The outer wall is only 2 tall, because all it does is deny the zombies an easier ingress. There are pits also at the corners of the wall. The pits get filled with spikes. We put 3 rows of spikes and then a row of barbed wire around the inner wall. That's it.

The pits are the easiest ingress and when the zombies cross in, they take damage and die on the spikes. We also rain down molotovs while they're in there. And we shoot the hell out of them.

So far, the only breech we've had was on our first night when our inner wall was only 2 thick and then we just basically ran around on top of the wall shooting them in the face as we did.

Most difficult part of horde night is defending spider zombies that can jump like 25 blocks.

Not sure if it's a bug or a feature.

If I'm in the mood for free 5+ levels - I'm fighting them at base.

If I'm not in the mood, I'm out in the wild, exploring map or looting smaller POIs I can bail out of fast(as long as you have minibike, horde is no threat).

Hey, you're the guy I hit with my bike on a red moon night ! I'm still waiting for you to send me the papers for insurance.
