I am on xbox and my friend is on ps5, we just started a world and have not been able to get voice chat to work. We both have checked for the option in menu and it is on. Both of us play cod on the regular so it's nothing wrong with the mics themselves. Any tips on how to fix this aside from starting a discord just to hear each other that would be great .

Hmm, there might be something useful in the log. Could one of you attempt to reproduce the issue (i.e. join a party and attempt to talk), then hit the report a bug button and put something in there like "voice chat won't work"? Also check your audio options and make sure everything in there is set properly (don't forget to check push to talk)
Is there a push to talk button on Xbox? I thought that was just PC? We have tried all the audio settings as well as the report a bug option.

Iirc it's when you're using keyboard and/or mouse.
When did you submit the bug report? I looked through and didn't see any related to voice chat. If you did, what did you type in the message? If you didn't put a message, what time did you submit it about? (hour is fine)
I submitted it on the Xbox about noon ish yesterday. I typed that the voice chat was not working at all.

Is this your message? "Game chat dont work no ones mics are working". I can't find any reports containing "voice" or "chat" or "party" on the 19th, this one is from the 15th though

It COULD have been a fluke in networking.... I'll look again though, we get quite a lot of silly messages or messages saying they like something or whatnot lol.
I'll also open an investigation too, hopefully tonight if not early tomorrow. Got a lot going on and 8am turns into 6pm in an hour it seems hah

I didn't get it working on PS5 but I noticed others did or they used party-chat. Didn't realy bother since I gave up random multiplayer for now.
For me the ptt button is the right on d-pad, you can find it somewhere in the controls menu. Gues it would be same for Xbox.

There aren't too many reports related to voice chat but there are some common entries in log files, so there's some to go off of. Replying to you two since apparently the @ user isn't working at the moment.
When yall have the voice chat not working, do you see the microphone indicator on the other players' names? How does that look and how does the player list window look like? Also, what kind of headsets are you using?

Yes it shows we both have a mic and above our names on screen and when going to the player list it shows the option of muting them or not and it's all enabled so I'm stumped

Thanks. As far as headsets go that's pretty standard, I'll be honest I've never seen anyone on the team or public having that issue so I'm not sure how to troubleshoot. I asked in our team chat and will poke around and look in documentation in the meantime too

I'm away now for a week, if I remember correctly they had that microphone indicator but I didn't hear them, not even when they were next to me. Headsets are steel series wich functions good in other games. I didn't realy dive in to it too much so it might be just as well that it was a missed invite or something. The other time it was a random joining me, possibly without headset so no clue if he heard me or not.

Sorry for the delay, freezing weather caused a bit of a catastrophe at my house/office, just now getting back although more works needs to be done. Thanks for all the info, I'm looking into it as well. Unfortunately it seems all of my headsets work, but I have another set or two I can try out. For some reason, it looks like any logs that have the issue the game just doesn't recognize it for voice chat (which would be EOS).
I was having time management issues like that. Need to adjust your how long per day setting I go with 120 but then loot bags despawn before morning....
Hope you find a fix, till then just call who you are playing with on the phone... unless randoms
