PC Vehicles turbo

(Apologies for my English)

My little finger on the left hand is going to stiffen and I'll have osteoarthritis at a very young age...

Would it be possible to use the turbo in vehicles without having to squeeze Shift all the time?

Wouldn't it be possible to switch between on and off?

I was so free to extend your modlet.Maybe you like it and offer a extended version ?

Makes more sense as if i offer a Vehicle speed mod too.

Just test it, its nice

Code:
<set xpath="/vehicles/vehicle[@name='vehicleBicycle']/property[@name='velocityMax']/@value">7,13</set>
<set xpath="/vehicles/vehicle[@name='vehicleBicycle']/property[@name='motorTorqueMinQ']/@value">1500</set>

That the vehicles have problems to accelerate in inclines is simply that the wheels have no grip. Found no value for that until now

Ahh and all vehicles except the bike have now max speed without turbo, turbo is slower but has more torque

Your little left finger will be gratefull

Max speeds are maybe a bit high for average computers. No idea, works fine with my I7 4790k

I rebound dashes to left alt a long time ago. Dash jumping is nearly impossible but my hand still works. I call it a win.

tried that, but jumping (space) with pressed ALT button sucks too.

90% of the issue i circumvent by macros (Primary Runing)

While your complaint is absolutely fair (please fix somehow), I'll offer a point in circumventing it which may a) actually help and b) maybe be healthier in other places too.

When you're playing, pay attention how strongly you are using your keyboard. All keys, but especially those difficult ones. The little finger is weak and often with limited control, but on most keyboards you don't really need that much force to keep a button down. Just don't "jam it in there", keep it as light as you can and maybe change the pressure now and then.

Main point, I don't care if it fixes your issue in 7dtd, but it can help there, in any other game for the next 5 decades and maybe even in the office :)

The sollution i ask you TFP for is btw to allow 2 buttons at the same time Means Shift or left alt both with the same function

I think a OUTRUN style system would work with vehicles here. (outrun is an old sega arcade game)

LOW and HIGH gear/speed which can switch by pushing the button once.

LOW speed/gear is a casual/cruise speed

HIGH speed/gear is as fast as it can go.

Holding a Sprint key down with vehicles is just terrible by design. Pushing a button just once, to go into the higher gear/speed would be better.

The next person i see say "just mod it in" im going to strangle within my vivid imagination. Every, single, post is just "mod it in" "just mod it". Stop wasting everybodies time and energy.

If someone makes this modlet, I'll "just mod it in".... couldn't resist... but legit would insta install this modlet for a 1x shift click for vehicle gears.

I'd love a toggle for moving forward like there is in Skyrim. Would work wonders in travelling great distances, be it sprinting or crouching.

I will be completely honest. I've sat down for 18+ hour long sessions of this game and even running a ton. However, I have no issue with my pinky ever getting tired or bothered by it. Perhaps you position your hands at a poor angle or in such a way that it causes unnecessary strain on your finger?

Some people have physical conditions Snowydeath which you have to take into consideration when you design your game.

Like 'apostraphe' said above, Skyrim has a toggle button for continuously walking forwards, which is a great help for people with such conditions.

I suffer from arthritis for example. When games like Assassins Creed on PC wants me to press and hold 3 buttons (W, Shift and Space) constantly in order to just move around, it quickly becomes painful, no matter how much you rebind keys. I couldnt play GTA4 because buttonmashing was how you made your character jog on PC (wtf rockstar...)

Buttonmashing or excessive holding of keys/buttons causes a lot of grief on players with disability, and a lot of players of 7 Days To Die, WILL have these conditions.

Toggle would be great for the current system, but how about in general changing srpint/turbo into active ability, instead of current default mode of travel?

Roughly drafted, raise walk speed to the current average travel speed, about 80% of sprint. Make sprint Fast, but eat your sta in about 2 seconds .. add Agi and cardio and you get 8 secs with a max bar. Making the max uptime about 8/28, a little less than 30%.

Similar for cars, you could do a nice jump in a good spot or really ram it into a zed.

Upsides, more dynamic feel to gameplay, less numb fingers.

I have a G602 mouse, hardly high end, and have mapped the shift key to one of my "macro" mouse buttons. I like to run using shift, but driving I often use the mouse button. I also have a "W" button programmed so I can drink and drive.

Not a bad idea.... I may have to map shift to my thumb macro button on mine.

With my Corsair Scimitar Pro, I could totally bind all the macros to the 12 buttons on the side of my mouse. I kinda wanna try that now tbh...

This. All of this. You can even change fuel consumption in those gears if it doesn't already. The other option is to just make it a single gear that takes awhile to accelerate to max speed if the developers don't want to mess around with toggle input coding. This would open up the option to have mods for vehicles to add turbo charging or nitrous for substantial speed boosts. Nitrous is especially interesting in that it could use up resources when activated thus providing another economy sink. Under the hood, ammo usage code could be applied to decrementing other resources in the player's inventory with a slight bit of modification.

However, all that mod talk above is in the blue sky territory AFTER the developers address much bigger and glaring issues. They need all the help they can get to fight off scope creep.
