PC vehicle map marker wont go away

So I had a vehicle disappear some time ago but there is still a white marker for it on my map that I can't delete. Any thoughts or ideas on how to get rid of it.

If it’s a single player game or you have admin powers on server, try going to the marker spot and using god mode go below and above the map to see if the vehicle is either really high up or far below map surface. If that can’t be done or you still can’t find the vehicle then I believe if you place a different vehicle of the same type, it should go away. AFAIK, the game only remembers the marker for the most recently placed vehicle for each vehicle type. So if you lost a minibike, put a second minibike down and you should only see the new minibike marker. Hope this helps.

I have already looked underground for it ( actually found a motorcycle that way once), and have have been using and have placed many jeeps since the one that can not be removed.

Then use the console (F1) and enter "listents". It will list all players and all vehicles and show their position. You can see if there is a vehicle at your position but maybe high in the sky. Not sure there is a command to delete a vehicle (try "help"), if not, as a last resort you can delete ALL vehicles by deleting the file vehicles.dat in your savegame.

Ok tried listents with all vehicles picked up. I was the only entity in the list. also not sure if it matters but the jeep marker in in white not yellow.
