PC V3.0 Sandbox Siege Dev Diary

It was honestly the best the game had to offer imo. Bases scattered about, was fun even in PvE. You would find others struggling, begging for food. Trading (without using teleports like they do now). Was a great zombie-apocalypse-band-together-community feel. People set up shops (with vending meachines designed for use in multiplayer, useless with 8 players really). It was clear they had multiplayer (over 8 players) in mind with some of the features they added. They also had PvP in mind and even @Roland wrote back in 2016 that they would switch focus to PvP at some point. 10 years ago. I keep getting told that they are doing what they promised, but that is not exactly true.
Yes TFP in 2016 thought supporting PVP would either be easy or what they wanted to do. BUT then they realized neither was true because supporting PVP would require substantial changes to solo and coop play and would anger the super majority of their players.

PVP games need to be designed from the ground up to be able to handle lobbies of Internet randos. 7d2d was not and in my opinion it should have been obvious to everyone that PVP was always a pipe dream for this reason alone.

@Laz Man
Have you thought about a final battle arena. Something that is encased,
and uses the "Flatspot" mechanic combined with the Quest reset option.

Meaning, it does not exist until the prerequisites have been met.
This way it could appear anywhere, preferrably in a remote area to take
advantage of less objects to load in the chunks. More entities, simultaneously.

Internally fully destructible but once entered surrounded by the trader force
field. So it basically becomes a do or die scenario.

Dont freakin touch my 100% :p
When I came back too steam I was suprised the amount of achievements I had that I couldn't do on console for x or y reason (cuz im bad)

But I think more achievements would be cool tho.

anyone else think it would be pretty cool if they put out some gameplay/settings teasers for 3.0?

probably be a great way to reignite hype
Exactly. I be starving

This sounds about right. QA is working hard testing the sandbox settings. Lots of bugs getting found and fixed for a good while now. Super excited to see what kind of presets folks end up making and sharing with each other. Lots of alternate ways to play (both new and old).
That's good to hear, I guess it would take a while to make sure all different settings work together. I guess ICE-T was right "pimpin' ain't easy" 😁

1.0 only peaked in players because those in the normi world thought the game was finished. They left when they realized this was wrong.
...except they put a roadmap out before that 1.0 release ever happened that made it very clear the game wasn't "finished" with the release of 1.0. This isn't even me defending TFP, I just can't stand people being ignorant and then blaming their ignorance on anything other than themselves. If you aren't willing to do research before purchasing something you basically give up the right to complain about it after the fact.

Hey, just a question if you're able to answer. Currently there's a tag in the xml files called "ignorelootabundance=true", assigned to various containers, including zombie loot bags, end loot caches, etc. In the teaser, we're getting at least one individualized loot slider, this one for ammunition. It would be a shame if one were to reduce ammo found in loot but various containers hypothetically blocked this toggle using the aforementioned xml tag. Can you confirm if it remains in the game and could impact various sliders?

Bull Crap!
If a V1.x is sold you should not have to research.
You don't have to do research. On the buy page of consoles this statement is presented to you:

This game is still being developed. It is subject to future scheduled updates before being released as a finished product. Only buy it if you are satisfied with the game in its current state. For a list of known issues, see: https://community.7daystodie.com/

No research, just reading.
