PC V2.6 EXP

Will there be a performance boost for the PS5? The game runs terribly on the PS5 Pro.
Oh man I sure hope so I've been so excited for this. I've got a whole thread about it and they fixed the vehicle hitching thing but the performance has really been killing me since 2.5 if there are cities or several zombies around. Makes you wanna just go full hermit and hide.

I'm excited regardless but my by far far far #1 thing is getting the PS5 performance back how it was before 2.5.

Wouldn't it be better to prevent them from getting stuck in the doors but still blocked by the small space? That's like saying my car should be able to fit through a window without the window breaking.

I mean, squeezing through a space 1 block wide x 2 blocks high isn't that much of a stretch for a bear, they are quite flexible, unlike a car.

Just wanted to say that requiring jars for the dew collector is a dumb idea. Why even use a dew collector if you are going to use jars that you could just immediately fill from a water source? It makes the dew collectors pointless and forces people to use jars when they don't want to.
Dew Collectors don't generate as much heat as a campfire. You just throw your jars in, leave for the day to go quest/hunt/scavenge and come home to water.

And with mods, you're getting even more water generated during the day.

Nice maintenance update. Does the topsoil terrain blending fix also remove the gap between player-placed blocks and terrain?
No. This is for the texture blending.

I'd personally love to see a new shovel mode or something that could fix those terrain to block gaps like it's done in the Prefab Editor.

Lots of things already in the works, so hopefully one day.

You're already paying to get a mod for them to make clean water. You have a choice of cost or heat and nothing else different between them. I can go fill 50 jars with water quickly at a nearby water source or I can spend resources and spend money for mods to sit around and wait for a long time to get water from a dew collector just to avoid heat? Heat doesn't even matter unless you're standing around for a long time near the heat source. Start a campfire to boil water and go do something and the heat is meaningless.

But whatever. I'll make a mod before I even play 2.6 to remove that.

That's fair. My group uses empty jars and the dew collectors, it's just how we play. You could always just not make dew collectors instead of going out of your way to make a mod.

Those large bears are 15% smaller, so visually they only clip a small amount, which is basically their fur, making it reasonable that they could squeeze through.
Wait, like you made the larger bears smaller?

I hate jars, so that's the opposite of what I want. I don't use jars at all. With this update, they'd force me to use them. So I'll mod them out again.

With the change, now there isn't any way to avoid using empty jars unless you're really lucky finding drinks and don't need much water for crafting glue. At least before, dew collectors gave you the option to ignore jars. To me it feels like another "we spent a lot of time on this and people are ignoring it, so let's find a way to make everyone have to use it" type of thing.

That does suck that this will be changed for players who liked to play without jar dependence, but I always thought it was weird that dew collectors just magically spawned containers to collect the water. It sounds like you'll have to make a compromise. Only make as many jars as you need for the dew collectors, then make no more.
