V2.5 Survival Revival Dev Diary

Can you throw off the link that the release date was announced last week?
no...there's no date...I gave you all relevant information "we" have...it's from a dev, so is more valuable than just my or anyone else's word. I know that's not what you asked for, but, it is all that "we" have been given.

soon(tm): is an indefinite period of time... it could mean tomorrow or a couple of months. In this case It sounds like before the end of the month...but, that's just speculation. Dates and effective Communication are not their strong suit.

The TM does mean Two Months and you said a couple of months so... You're definitely right! 😁

Seriously; I figure that since testing have been going on for a while now; I guess they found something else to fix, or maybe they decided to wait because some other feature is mostly done and they want to add it in 2.6 Exp.

I wish they could tell us something, but I figure the silence speaks for itself... Done when it's done!

Lol...TM=two months...that is the funniest line I have heard on here.

That seems like some pretty reasonable reasoning...all that is very plausible...and they do have a history of losing track of time when they think they are close on something.

The only part I even slightly disagree with is the last line...they could tell us something, but, they aren't... and hell's bells...if the guy with the 10th most hours of playtime in North America can't get an update...what chance do "we" have?

Let`t bring that convo to the part that in any sort of development time takes time and for us who are anticipating it to be short, it will cause trouble.

So, when it is done, it is done.

Only Time knows, ask Time, we are curious, too :)

Bring a towel.

FINE

make me beat that dead horse.

if there IS NO WAY to know how long ANY piece of this will take, let alone how long ALL of this is going to take, because "developing is hard and it takes as long as it takes" then I am going to have to ask you for a reasonable explanation for why they put such a short time line on the length of the road map. I'm sorry, but, I won't be accepting "overly optimistic" as "reasonable"...since they know their own history and the pace at which they work.

(*I did like the hitchhikers reference though)

Good and better things in life takes and needs time. Rush for it, you will break it. Simple ;)

This here is why you of all people shouldn’t be asking for dates. They gave you dates and you haven’t stopped railing about those missed dates for going on two years now. You bring up the “unreasonably optimistic dates” again and again and again.

So…..no dates. Faatal has already stated that they look at task milestones more than dates as their goals. Plus, you can’t handle the dates. Yes, you’re complaining about “soon” these days but it is a lot milder than the complaining you’ve done over missed dates and all the conspiracy theories and assumptions of malfeasances you’ve concocted because of the dates.

Do yourself a favor and stop asking for dates. If they give them to you, it won’t end well.

As an example, let's say they just fixed a bug and are testing and all looks fine, until that fix created 4 other bugs on related systems in the game. Now they need to fix those bugs and... You cannot put a time estimate on bug fixing.
But what they could do is, at the very least, make a post saying they are close to release, but it might take a little more time than first expected.
I figure that when @faatal doesn't answer messages, it means he's very busy and that can only be a good thing for us in the end.

Is it possible to find out the approximate date of the experimental version 2.6?

And that's not showing hours when playing overall mods
Someone in my chat said this recently.

I've played a lot of overhauls over the years, but my playtime hours on steam still go up while playing them, and while making my own.
I don't use the mod launcher so maybe that's why?
