V2.5 Survival Revival Dev Diary

I'm assuming you weren't here when the steam reviews for this game fell to like 45% when 2.0 came out. THE community. The 7 days to die community. The community of people who play the game. The game 7 days to die. The tens of thousands of people who play the game every week, watch videos on it, make posts about it and create all the mods for it.
I was here. I told the whiners what I thought of them and went on playing.
which get like 10-100k views with 99% positive responses
I know quite a few people who don't watch videos but play the game. I also know people who watch various reviews but don't play the game. How many of those who responded are active players?

Engagement bait works. Negativity and outrage drive clicks, comments, and shares more reliably than positive content.
That's not entirely true. People who are happy with everything simply continue doing what they enjoy. If a player enjoys a game, they'll sit and play it; they won't waste time watching videos. And those who don't will, accordingly, seek out like-minded people.

I made the post last week and said it looked like all the fixes were moved over and it was in testing. I see another bug fix was moved to 2.6 today, which means they found issues in testing and want one or more fixes before release. Another build will be made and that will be tested.
So you shouldn't expect an experimental version until the end of February 100%?

Someone in my chat said this recently.

I've played a lot of overhauls over the years, but my playtime hours on steam still go up while playing them, and while making my own.
I don't use the mod launcher so maybe that's why?
Yeah, the play time number in Steam includes any mod use, including overhaul mods. However, it also counts all time spent paused or at the main menu or while running a server but not actually playing in the game you're hosting. That's why GM's playtime is going up an average of about 12 hours per day the last time I calculated it over a 3 month period.

And where can I see the post from the developer?
For reference, if someone quotes another person as was done with the quote from faatal, there is a small arrow icon next to the name of the person quoted. Clicking that will take you to the original post that was quoted.

I think that's unlikely. Unless there's some serious bugs that come up, we still have 10 days to get experimental started. It's just a guess, but I would expect it within a week. But it's always an unknown time period because you can't know if new bugs will be found that are critical and need to be fixed before the release.
