I am using Windows 10 and my PC exceeds all the minimum requirements for running the game.

After the release of V2.5, I cant start a new game. It gets stuck on the loading game data screen.

I have:
uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times
verified game files through Steam multiple times and sometimes all the files are there and sometimes files are missing and need to be 'reacquired'
I have done a complete clean of 7D2D from my computer with reg edit
I have run as administrator
I have disabled EAC
I have used the 7D2D launcher and cleaned everything
The game was working fine just before the release of 2.5 and now I cant even get in to run an earlier version.

No matter what i try, I cannot get the game to open and run.

AND, when i try to attach the client log here, it wont attach the .txt file because it says it is too large!!

I am not extremely versed in computers. I am just a middle aged guy that wants to play a game to de-stress.

Please help

You can paste the log into a site like pastebin.com and then copy the URL from there and paste it here if the log is too large. Of course, if it's really large, it might be too big there as well. But if the issue is with just trying to load a game, you should have a new log that is very small and would have no problem being shared here. Logs get large when you play for a long time, but if you're just trying to load a game and running into trouble, the log for that should be very small. Double check your dates/times to make sure you're trying to show the most recent log.

It is unfortunately not really possible to help without seeing what's happening since there really isn't any detail in what you've said or shown that would give any indication of the problem, other than that it isn't loading.

To do a complete and proper uninstall of game (Sometimes old files remain after an uninstall

1. Check users/username/appdata/roaming/7daystodie and steam/steamapp/common/7daystodie move the Mods folder out somewhere safe (desktop)
2. Uninstall game via steam app
3. Go to users/username/appdata/roaming and delete the 7 days to die folder
4. Go to steam/steamapps/common/ and delete the remaining 7dtd folder
5. Re install game
6. Open steam/steamapps/common/7daystodie double click 7dlauncher --> tools --> clean game files select all
7. Go to steam app and verify game files (7dtd properties)
8. Start 7dtd then a quick navezgane map to put the appdata/roaming/7dtd folder back.
9. Create a Mods folder in your users/username/appdata/roaming/7daystodie (Capital M is important)
10. If Mods were causing an issue move 1 mod to your Mods folder and test. If working repeat.

NOTE: Always make sure tfp harmony mod is in your steam/steamapps/common/7daystodie/Mods folder

I have followed all of your steps in order (same ones the AI gave me).

After step 3, there was no 7D2D folder to delete.
re-installed the game
used the launcher tool to clean
verified in Steam (all files there)
Started the game and got the spinny stick Fun Pimps screen the it got stuck on the 'loading game data' screen.

As I mentioned in my first post, I have done this at least 4 times. I have done a full client refresh

The game was working just fine 4 days ago when I was playing 2.3(?)
As soon as the 2.5 was released, this is where it gets stuck.

And I have left it sit here on this screen for over 30 mins with no change.

I have removed the Mods folder completely trying to get the game to just start. I have also updated my video card drivers as well. I am using Direct X12. As I said, i get the Fun Pimps splash screen with the spinning cane and music, it jumps to the 7D2D screen with 'loading game data' and there is freezes. I let it sit for an hour last night and it just stuck there.
Post automatically merged:

I was playing it 5 days ago before the update went out (non experimental), then it just stopped working. 8 uninstalls and reinstalls and verifiications and still wont work.

Very frustrating
