V2.3 Stable

Question idk what the issue is we have a recent save world with pc being the server admin cause we had more than 4 people and we keep having issues almost daily with constant network failure and freezing on game and we had to start doing backup saves cause we lost our first map. Can anyone give me any info on maybe whats wrong? Cause we are getting extremely tired of having to try for hours to play or worse having to lose our whole world and having to restart.

3rd person will be ready when it's ready. Could be V2.x or V3.0. It's playing pretty good, but a lot of things to add/fix/polish before it goes out.
Well, I went with what was said on X (possibly written an by over enthusiastic Richard?) when answering a message: "next patch hopefully" which would be 2.4. I guess it could be 3.0, but that would get some people upset because it was mentioned many times that it would in a 2.X update.
But no worries... "When it's done!"

Quick question. In the town hall stream, TFP made it clear that they intended to replace the Plague Spitter and Frostclaw with different entities.

Is that still planned? I ask because people in these forums have been debating their merits, as if they were still going to be in the game. Did I miss anything?

EDIT: My impression is that this change would be in a future 2.x version, not 3.0. Perhaps that impression was wrong.

Filling out a bug report and adding the server and client logs is the only way we could even begin to diagnose any issues.

They will be updated in 2.x

Fun Pimps calls this gold or the version released from Alpha. Updates that do not match the game's DNA.
We are rather in pre-alpha, the game has become a constraint, harassment, a commercial Barbie mess, with traders and useless missions, with boring books, with magic instead of survival logic.
So much hope to arrive at an arcade RPG game. The developers copy others in the pathetic, remove and reinsert mechanics. They are incapable of developing this game.
The devs are aging and only want to make money to develop their future ■■■■ty game instead of finishing this game properly or creating an improved 7 DAYS TO DIE 2.
They can only do better compared to what this disgusting mess has become.
The game's sound has always been pathetic, etc. The hope of some YouTubers has allowed the community to hope, and many have stopped playing the game, many have abandoned this ■■■■ out of betrayal;
7 Days to Die is unplayable without souls or flavor.

Hopefully second digits, Let 3.0 take as long as they need. Only better for us.
since the roadmap is meaningless, why not break it a little more? I'd like to see a discussion, with tfp, about 3.0. there's a pretty good idea about keeping 3.0 in a closed exp until it is entirely play tested ready. Even I get tired of hearing PC gamers cry at every update about how their mods don't work. or console crying about saved games not working. tfp staff trying hard to prevent it and taking crap anyways. SKIP all that. Piecing out the updates just gives people time to hate them without understanding how they fit the broader strokes. Faith in the broader strokes? that's a different convo. lol

I'm sorry, does that mean that there is a 2.5 or 2.6 planned? or will it all get put in 2.4?
There will be as many as are needed. Other alphas had more versions as well.

And I'd also ask... after you reach 2.9 are you then forced to work on 3.0 next, or are you going to use second digits like 3.91, 3.92 and such... ?
If they follow any kind of standards (which they don't), it would be 2.10 after 2.9 if they got that far.

TFP doesn't call this gold. They have made it clear that 4.0 will be gold. This is just not called alpha anymore, likely due to making it available for console. It clearly states it's still pre-release on the menu.

I doubt they'll change how they do experimental at this point. And any changes that limit who can play these versions will just upset a LOT of people. Considering how much you complain about them taking too long, imagine if 2.0 wasn't released until they are finished with all 2.x updates? You certainly wouldn't be happier about it. You were already mad about it taking longer than initially stated.

As far as console saves go, there was a single minor update that broke saves due to a serious bug that had to be fixed regarding saves. Other than that, only the 2.0 update broke a console save and there will be only 2 more like that - 3.0 and 4.0. If console players can't plan for those releases, then that's kind of on them. There is plenty of time between each major release to play as many games as they want and be finished before those releases. If they pay any attention to the news for the game, they'll see when those go into experimental and will know to plan for a new game within a couple weeks or so.

In any case, think about what these updates are. They are making changes because players gave feedback. Now, if they didn't release 2.0 until they were done with the 2.x versions, they wouldn't be making those changes because they wouldn't have gotten that feedback. They also fix bugs that are found during these versions. As I have mentioned before, no developer will find all the bugs internally because they don't do all the "crazy" things that players do and so will not encounter those bugs. Plus, for PC, they don't have all the various hardware and driver combinations that might create bugs. So those also need to be fixed after players get ahold of it. It's just how things work.

it does not matter to you or tfp that I fell for the road map so why bring it up? it's gone and I am never going to get satisfactory answers. especially when there is no desire to communicate about it.

2.0 is not done
we have no idea how much longer it will take. So there's an excellent chance that the entire road map length will have passed and we STILL won't have a 2.0 complete. I know that a lot of you say that does not matter...you are used to how TFP operate. AGAIN I say, the road map had dates. If your answer to that, is that they had to, to get it back on console...all i can say is good grief...that's a good enough answer for you?
please do not conflate what I said about HAVING A CONVERSATION about doing 3.0 different with the 2.x changes. I am not asking for a hard date...not pushing for anything other than letting 3.0 have a shot at not being like 2.0 sorry. I already promised I would not comment how long 3.0 is taking until Q4 2026. Doesn't mean I can't ask a simple question about doing it different. I find it strange that you are okay with TFP taking as loooooooooooooong as they want, but, are baulking at the idea they don't release 3.0 at all until it is actually done?

the idea of who would be in a closed exp and how hard the game would be tested is completely up to them. see lots of die hards on here that would make excellent candidates, but, that is just a suggestion.

You can clearly see that Fun Pimps is incapable of developing a sandbox game, a survival tower defense.
FUN PIMS, modified their own words. This is the worst gaming community I know, the most disappointed, the most betrayed, and this obviously comes from the behavior of Fun Pimps who only think about their new cursed game that sucks, with no future.
7 DAYS TO DIE was the ultimate game, the hope of the perfect game to relax after a day of work or a weekend.
They turned it into a mundane, wobbly game, the game is dead, there's no more enjoyment in playing, everything is boring and bland.
Wake up, they can't even optimize the good mechanics that we appreciated.
They preferred to wokify and LGBT the game to please the bearded Barbies with no ideas and prefer to lower themselves to the communists and copy them, cowardly traitors.

my friend...I have several problems with how this game has been managed. What you saw was not a reference to LGBT it was to colours and dyes returning to the game. someone else made a joke that should maybe have been taken down? idk
There really isn't any politics involved. thankfully
I suggest you slow down, concentrate on what you want to say and remove as much profanity and insults out of it as possible before posting...not that you used any profanity, just in general.
trust me, letting your anger get the best of you is a fast way to be given a short recess.

Comments like this don't just come from thin air. There's probably some foundation to it if someone gets this upset. Other people might not feel the same, but you don't need to lose all the water in a bucket to know there's a hole somewhere.

...But if they do release a 7DTD2 in the next few years, I will NOT be impressed. It's the PIMP's right to develop as slowly as they want, but if I am forced to pay for a third copy of the game to finally get a "complete" version... I won't (I bought the game on console the first time before 1.0).

Despite the negative reactions to the quoted post, I do agree, to a degree, with some points made - just not how it was worded.
