PC V2.0 Storms Brewing Dev Diary

In Faatal's defense, it's a regional thing. Like down the block, and down yonder.
Both mean over der.

I keep saying it to myself, and the conversations here, keep fueling my suspicions
of Ip sale to Marvel Multiverse™.
Just ask Rick when Fubar's not around, you'll probably find out.

When you finally get them, the bandits that is, just do a Deadpool 4th wall and
say Suk it Fox™.

Then get a new monitor.

It's just my imagination...once again...running away with me.

Kind of like my 4th wall sign above. I was just going to post between a rock and
a hard place, you see where that got me.

I wish there was an option to reload your melee weapon.
It'd make my muscle memory less silly.
Even a dumb little flourish animation.
Make my 'R' addiction worth something!
For those times when I accidentally try to reload my spear, this would be great. I can see it now... the one-handed shotgun pump with a spear. ;)

Then have Rekt's voice come out of nowhere... "You dumb---! That's not how you use a spear!" :D

Maybe even extend it... next time I visit each trader, they all have something to say... "So, I heard you reloaded your spear. How'd that work for you?" or whatever.

"early not later dec?"
When someone says "early not later Dec" and it's now December 6th, they're distinguishing between two parts of December:
  • Early December = roughly the first 10 days (Dec 1-10)
  • Later December = roughly the last two-thirds of the month (Dec 11-31, especially the 15th onward)
Since today is December 6th, you're right in the middle of "early December." So if someone is saying something will happen in "early not later Dec," they mean it should happen around now or within the next few days - not pushed off to mid or late December.

They're basically emphasizing timing: "this is happening soon, in the early part of the month, not getting delayed to later in December."

I would assume that Early December means before the 15th and Later December means after the 15th. Why cut December in two at the 10th? It makes no sense.

"early dec" most definately would be considered the10th at max as the "11th-19th" i would consider "mid dec"
early-mid-late
Except he didn't say early December. He said earlier rather than later, which can easily mean the first half of December. And don't forget that he was giving an estimate based on his own thoughts and not an official statement or guarantee. He isn't in charge of everything going on, so he may not know that something else is going to take longer to get ready and will delay things. But why does it matter? He said they are working on putting the update together, so it is obviously going to be "soon". That may be within a few days, but should certainly be within the next 10 days. And does it really matter which?

Sooo....No one here has ever seen a Dev stream, right.

Amongst the three main participants, whom would you say is
the most animated, emotional, or shows the most enthusiasm
constantly. Whom showed the greatest reaction at the Town Hall
stream, and would probably have the greatest reaction to reversing
the polarity of opinion.

Here's a hint it's not Joel or Fubar.

Richard just got excited, and posted before Fubar could edit
it.

no, you don´t. Ladies also fart :-)
Thanks for that. No one believed me.

I agree that there was no pre-determination of definition of early, mid, or late December in faatal's post from a week ago. his post from 2 days ago about the bulk having been merged but more still needs to be done...and then several days of testing needed is less ambiguous. Whoever made the post about 2.5 coming very soon (and I guess myself for pointing it out) is responsible for this conversation. It matters to some, because I imagine most console users would like to have 2.5 to play over the holidays too...and it is starting to look pretty doubtful as we get closer to vacation time.
I believe that the devs will get 2.5 exp done before the holidays...barring any serious problems with how the merging went. That post sure put those devs in a rough position imo.

Faatal's estimates are only that... Estimates. He does not decide when an update will actually be released.
Of course, Faatal's work makes things go forward, but it's his view on what he works on and what he might have seen or heard from other devs, as Faatal cannot follow what everyone else is doing at all times.
Trying to put a date on everything Faatal writes is insane. Let estimates be what they are.

I believe that 2.5 will be out before the end of the year, but whatever feature is not ready, will not be merged to 2.5, but added in a later date.

Let's be patient... TFP will give us something nice for the Holidays.

This, I feel like we'll get something before the holidays, even if it is with a few things missing that they'd of liked to add. This way it gives us something to enjoy over the period. Then when they're back at full work, who knows, we might get a 2.6 before a 3.0 to add the remaining features and get them tested.
