good grief. I think you might be trying to get too much mileage out of console centric. By the way, only said to denote I was speaking AS a console gamer...NOT FOR ALL CONSOLE GAMERS. I thought that asserting numbers had been beaten to death...oh well.
If you happen to know the actual numbers for how many copies of the console version sold on the platforms and how many daily players there are on each platform...be great to see them. just saying.

I'm happy for you. If you enjoy this kind of process...more power to you. I bought back in because of the DATES on the roadmap. now I am just trying to make the best out of this...situation, that I can.

I did think about switching back to PC for this game, but, I really hate file management to play games, so instead I started watching YouTubers play, to stay in touch with the game, I watched all the frustration, popular stuff being removed with no explanation, Alpha after Alpha thinking "why do these guys accept a few new skins, a few new POI and a unwanted progression rework as progress?". I should have waited until it was done...I feel like I should have known the Fun Pimp's would pull a Lucy and move the football. I just didn't think that it would be this bad...that they would be THIS FAR BEHIND. So asking for better communication is my way of making the best out of this bs as I can for myself.

When all of it is in...it will feel and look like a new game, I'm a little bit excited to play it...but, try not to blame me for not wanting to get my hopes up too high...not because I think it will suck, but, because "we" have no clue when we will get to play it.

I still would like some answers for my post...like what do they have penciled in for 2.5? how are they planning to divide up the rest? I already am mentally prepared for 2.5 to not be available until the New Year...but there is a long list of feature...and 2.5 is a short list...so...how long until we get the rest? february? march break maybe?

The issue is I've done every play style and trying to do hybrid play styles and man it sucks.

And out of the 5 base ones only 2 i like. Perception and agility

strength is too good
Intellect is fun but the no ranged weapon really kills it for me
not a fan of knuckles

thats why once i get a pc ima get that mod

It sucks but the short time I was on PC it did suck but im more open too it now especially to make say zombies spawns Increase or something small. Cuz ■■■■ the pimps can't add it so I'll do it myself or I'll download prebuilds mod or something or he'll ish hordes

The idea that file management is at all an issue just shows a lack of understanding of PC gaming. Unless you are using mods, there is NO file management necessary unless you count installing the game as file management, which it really isn't. If you are using mods, the limit of file management necessary is to extract the mods to the correct location, which is hardly difficult and can be done one time for each mod unless the mod gets updated. Again, hardly a difficult thing to do. You can do it in seconds per mod (not counting extraction time, which varies based on the size of the mod). And if you're playing on console, then mods aren't even an option now, so as a 1:1 comparison, there isn't any more file management necessary to play this on PC than to play this on console.

*Other* things require file management on PC, but that is an entire different thing than playing this game on PC. Also, most file management isn't even necessary unless you're really into working with computers and want to do some more stuff. You basically just put everything in its place automatically - documents default to a specific location, pictures to a specific location, etc. No need to do anything special unless you choose to. So, no... file management is not a reason to not use a PC for gaming.

Besides, the way updates work on Steam and the way that changing versions works if you want to play experimental or an older version, it's just a drop down to select the version and Steam does everything for you.

Now, there are valid reasons for some people to choose console over PC. Things like not wanting to worry about whether or not a game works on their specific hardware, for example. But file management just isn't one.
 
To anybody at TFP or any spokesperson...

There seems to be confusion about which features are coming in later 2.x versions, which features are coming in 3.0, and which features (if any) have been delayed past 3.0.

I'm getting this mainly because of a YouTube video by IzPrebuilt where he seems to think that all future changes are coming in 3.0. Glass jars, smell, temperature, apiaries and chicken coops, etc. - and that when Joel said bandits are delayed, that he meant they were delayed past 3.0.

I'm pretty sure that's wrong, but I don't think IzPrebuilt is being disingenuous, just confused. Or perhaps I am the one who is confused.

Regardless - can someone confirm which features are planned for future 2.x updates, which are planned for 3.x, and which (if any) planned 3.x features are pushed past 3.x at this time?

THIS...file management, updating drivers, uninstalling...reinstalling...I lump that all together...THIS is what you want to focus on? Good Grief.

I saw that same video by Iz...I left a comment (for any good it might do) that he was mostly wrong, Bandits are still coming in 3.0 , 2.5 is a short list of things, but, we don't know exactly what they have prioritized for that update. the rest of the 2.0 and the town hall changes were stated to be coming before xmas.
It was a few days later we were told 2.5 is not coming for "several weeks"...nothing about when the rest is coming, nothing about when 3.0 might be slated.
I won't speak for @khzmusik but I do think he was just looking for a little more info than the vague ideas and rumors.

even I want to argue that...but, I can't. Just not for the same reason. lol
My guess has been Bandits Q4 2026...any sooner being a bonus...of a sort. which is not soon, but, I believe, you still believe it will take longer. (to keep it simple)
Right now, I am not sure they are going to get what they have left from 2.0, and the town hall, done inside of Q1 2026. I guess there's a chance they have other things they want to add before they tackle 3.0, which would be another delay...but, no way to know that for sure, so not worth putting much thought into THAT yet.

Sounds like they are pretty much completely wrong and just spreading misinformation. Even if they aren't purposely spreading the misinformation, it isn't good to say stuff in such a format when you don't know what you're talking about. Storm updates, apiaries, smell, temperature, and jars are almost guaranteed to be in 2.x based on stuff faatal has said. There hasn't been word on chicken coops, so it's possible that won't be until 3.x, though it could still be in 2.x. Roland has already commented on testing these things out, so they are in at least a mostly working state and should just need ironing out of any bugs and working on any balancing and finishing touches. That does not mean these will all be in 2.5, though. It will depend on what is finished by then.

You were the one who brought it up. As far as uninstalling and reinstalling, you still do that on console. Driver updates aren't a big deal and you can even ignore them if everything is working well and you're not trying to play a really new game that needs changes to the drivers to work because it uses some new feature. Pretty much any game over a year old will work on the same driver version indefinitely, though it is still recommended to update every so often. And it's hardly difficult. It just sounds like an excuse rather than a legitimate reason.

As we are day from a november are there any leaks about the story mode? I love looking on the newspaper lying randomly in the world and imagine what did happen.
