PC V2.0 Storms Brewing Dev Diary

I'd assume so, being used in the context it was. Just lost in translation regarding the word used. I'd be all for bringing it back as a usable workbench in a limited capacity where you don't NEED it like other workstations, but end-game stuff you'd like to make just for giggles for home decor etc. that's currently available in-game via the creative menu makes sense.

Considering the amount of POI's in the game using all these assets, surely it wouldn't be a performance issue allowing players to actually make or acquire them. I mean SOME are available to buy through the trader - just not everything. Maybe it would be a performance thing considering the creative menu items don't need a recipe to make - they just...exist, but even that is just xml?.

The reason they've given before, at least for certain things, is that the level of detail in them causes issues if they are spammed. If someone drops 100 (or whatever number) of the item, it might cause server problems for example. The suggestion I've made about that in the past was to have it as a game option. If enabled, people can craft any of the decoration objects. If disabled, they can only craft the ones we have now. This way, if a server has problems with people spamming stuff, they can have it disabled. And for the solo player or people playing with friends, they can craft all of it since they aren't going to mess up their own game. The decoration objects that have issues when spammed can be placed into their own category (similar to how dev stuff is in its own category) and whether or not you can see the recipes for the items in that category depends on the game setting. It would keep servers protected (if needed) and allow the rest of us to craft the stuff we want to craft without having to use the creative menu or mods.

I'm surprised we haven't been teased a video of the frost claw, maybe they are waiting for the dev stream to show it off. If I'm not misremembering, faatal mentioned a projectile attack similar to the cop but slightly different. I'm assuming it'll throw projectiles from its hand instead of spitting projectiles.

If this is the case, I wonder if dismembering it's arms will disable its ability to throw projectiles.

I think spamming anything too much will cause lag. But I doubt this would be a problem sense from what I see people ether

play there own saves, solo or with a buddy
A small dedication sever with the friends

There's always the other servers that aren't really built for the Game but it's ment to be kinda a built for 8 players

And there will always be that one dickhead who spams but that effects alot of other people in terms of lack of creative builds in survival

There are plenty of people who play on servers that don't go over 8 players. TFP needs to keep them in mind, too. My suggestion would work for all groups, though.
