1.4 for all platforms when it's stable? Where does it say that?
The Exp patch notes posts never say it will be coming to console once stable is released.

All stable updates, with the exception of platform specific issues, are released to all platforms when stable.

Why would they change that now?

As Arez said, that's how it works.  They don't say it every time because that's how it will always work.  Console isn't allowed experimental because of Sony's and Microsoft's policies, so once any new version is stable, it gets released to console at the same time as PC.  Note that console releases sometimes aren't available the same time as PC again due to Sony and Microsoft and sometimes Microsoft may take longer to make it available than Sony or vice versa, but it will be made available to them the same time as PC.  After that, it's up to Sony and Microsoft to make it available to console players.

The only time it wouldn't go out to console or a specific console is if it's an update that only impacts a specific platform, which would be rare... basically a game breaking bug on only one platform that they need to fix right away without including the fix in a larger update that would go out to every platform.

Just for my education (as I'm not a console person and haven't learned previously) when TFP release to the console does it become immediately available to console players or does that mean it was released to Sony/MS who then might need time to review and otherwise process to make available to the console players?

From my experience. Yes right when they are done with experimental they seem to wait till consoled get verified cuz every time they announce stable then there's a update

I'd assume approval is in place before release.  Otherwise, approval could take a days or even weeks and console doesn't usually need to wait more than hours.  However, it is still in the hands of Sony and Microsoft to actually release it.  If I am remembering correctly, Microsoft didn't release either 1.2 or 1.3 for a day or two after it was available for PC and Playstation.

So far stable becomes available to all when it passes both console certifications, but I do remember there being an issue where one of the console's playerbase didn't receive an update at the same time even though it passed, and PC and the other platform did get it. Maybe I dreamed that, but I can also swear I've seen that happen with other games too.

what about the stuttering issue on xbox series x?  its gotten me killed a lot of times.  itll just freeze for a few seconds and a lot of the time itll make my camera freak out.  it needs fixing

Might be that the support tab in the console section is a better place to ask that or use the in-game report function. This thread is about an experimental version that is not available on console.

But in case your question was v1.4 experimental related the only correct answere is: Buy capable PC or wait for stable v1.4.

"buying a capable pc" is not a correct answer at all.  plus i have a pc with a rtx 4070 in it so yea lol

Could you add a god mode option at world creation menu for Xbox series x sometime in the future? I turned on console commands and tried everything but it won't work. The game is still fun. Also the trial version definitely helped with my purchase option. Very good game.

No. V1.4 does not require a new save game. A save game from V1.0 was tested without issue on all updates up to V1.4.

Yes. V2.0 will require a new save game due to the new and reworked perks, new POI's, new game settings, optimizations, and other under the hood data changes.
So my question is how will this work for console players? because they can't just go back to and older version like PC can. So will console players just be locked out of their saves when 2.0 comes out?

I am pretty sure that you can choose not to update to 2.0 until after you're ready to start a new game.

Yeah, sure, you can do that but, there will be many players that will have no idea about this that will update their game when 2.0 releases, only to discover that they can't play their save anymore with no way to go back to 1.0.

Not much can be done about that.  Maybe they'll add a news item to the game on console before the stable release to warn users.  In the end, it is normal to start new games regularly anyhow, so it's not necessarily such a big deal to lose a game.  Though I agree it can be frustrating if you have a really good game going.

Yeah, it is what it is, like you mentioned, if they properly warn players a little while before the update it shouldn't be too big of an issue. It still does kinda bum me out that even after 1.0 big updates will still require a new save, but, i obviously completely understand that that these updates have such huge changes that it would be almost impossible for them to allow saves to be transferred.
