Today we are officially releasing v1.3 Stable! This release focuses on everything gore: Optimizations, bug fixes and updates to the final zombie who was still using the legacy gore system, the Tourist.
 
TFP wishes you all a great time and a fun Valentine's Day playing 7 Days. We have some really exciting stuff coming down the pipe, so stay tuned for more information on future releases!

V1.3 b9 Changelog:

Added:

  • (PS5 Japanese rating only) Textures and materials with reduced gore and dismemberment variants to several zombies and blocks for certification compliance. PC, Linux,  and Mac users can enable the reduced gore mode with the console command tcc from the main menu.
  • SDCS dismemberment to fat Hawaiian

 
Changed:

  • RWG Preview Quality limited to High on console devices
  • Readable error when trying to adding duplicate entity class names
  • Improved lots of dismemberment parts
  • Optimized bag and inventory updates for remote players

 
Fixed:

  • NRE when starting game with EOS disabled
  • Button localizations on PlayerList/BlockedPlayers were inverted
  • Mod event PlayerSpawnedInWorld not called for listen server host player
  • PS5 crash when exiting game
  • Change the default GameCoreSaveStorageProvider back to Blobs to avoid rare save corruption on Xbox
  • Some level design tools cannot be unchecked
  • PS5 game can hang during startup
  • Unable to clear school_03 "Grover High" plus large combat performance improvements
  • XUi Reloading main menu causes exception
  • Adjusted issues with some dismemberment parts
  • Holding Lit molotov cocktails illuminating way too much area
  • Error with filtered language when Trader Rekt announces closing soon
  • Laser dot visibility issues in MP
  • Laser dot position when reloading

it's not working on PC Game Pass; I still have version 1.2. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it's not updating, I can no longer cross play with my friends on Xbox

 
Still experiencing around 3 to 5 seconds of latency (lag) when a player joins/leaves a server.

 
Can someone from TFP tell me what's changed between v1.3 (b6) experimental and v1.3 (b9) stable?

The zombies are noticeably FASTER in vanilla for stable compared to experimental, and in my mod my "ferals" are about 30% SLOWER in stable compared to experimental.

EDIT: disregard my comment on the "ferals", it was due to removing a modlet I removed when updating to 1.3

That's what the patch notes are for. you can see the changes between b6 and b9 in the 1.3 experimental thread.

 
Can you guys add support for communication on console? As it stands, a button has to be pressed just to talk with friends cross-platform. Doing this while in menus really causes havoc, and I don't call this current implementation any form of support.

Just add an option to always have voice enabled. Do you guys WANT your game to succeed? It starts with allowing a community to build, and preventing your players from talking to each-other doesn't help.

For all you pc players, this doesn't apply to you.

For the price tag you guys put on this game, updates like this are underwhelming - particularly with how unpolished it is. I convinced my cousin to buy 7 Days, and he isn't impressed.


....Or how about this persistent repeating one second of lag we get on Xbox Series X which occurs EVERY 30 seconds? I'm not the only one. Fix it! 👎

Whatever this patch was supposed to fix on PS5, it broke my game. It won't load past building environment. It just sits there. At first reloading a couple times eventually got me in. Now that don't even work. Waited over 30 mins, and nothing. Deleted and reinstalled, and still won't work. It was working completely fine before this so called fix. And yes I've put in bug reports.

 
RWG, NRE etc… what do all these acronyms mean? Please just write stuff out in full - it really doesn’t take that much longer.

Or just learn how to look things up. It isn't like these are new terms no one familiar with the game, or Alpha/Beta testing would have trouble with.

RWG = Random World Generation. Term has existed since before this game began development over a decade ago.

NRE = Null Reference Exception. A common software error notation.

Literally could have spent the same amount of time using Google to figure this out as it took you to make your post.

Has anyone heard if the 1.3 update is going to come to pc gamepass yet been waiting for a while still at 1.2 
Literally just waiting on Microshaft to DO something. They were sent the update for console and PC at the same time. They should have released both at the same time. Console team did their job. MS Store team is off in space or something.

Anyone else having game lock ups ?

I've had four on this release (lost Motorcycle each time), had to "X" close the game.

File verification keeps coming up with the game boot.config file being incorrect each time.

Pretty sure this never happened on 1.2, but not 100% on that.

I have similar Unity game (Rising World) that I can play that will push (CPU/GFX) usage / temps higher than 7D2D that has never locked up.

Log files are useless here since the game locks and no longer writes to the drive.

If this isn't the same issue as the manifest file that kept coming up with older releases then it might be a case of your virus scanner preventing the download. You could exclude the game directory from being protected (in windows defender or whatever you have) if you haven't done already.  HOWTO is in the support section. Then verify again.

boot.config is a very small text file by the way, just 3 lines. Gives me doubts this is really the issue, but it is worth a try

Today at work I'd been watching JWoodle play an overhaul mod called Escape from Tarkov in v1.b14. Hadn't played 1.3 yet so added Tarkov and a few other mods and it's actually really good, highly recommend it

Which quest types are you having problems with?  Are you going full stealth, and not agroing any zambs?  
you probably didn't read carefully, i wrote the name of the quest "Grover High"
no i'm not going through it in stealth
