@faatal It would be nice to see crunchy guys in the horde too😎

Decisions about which zombies do or do not go into horde spawns are probably not made by technical developers. Maybe it is different for TFP, but those sorts of decisions are made by "Product" people (which in TFP means, I assume, Rick or Joel).

I know Faatal is good about responding in these forums, but not all questions should go to him.

I'm telling you this because I'm kind of a Faatal type person in the company that I work for. :)

that is what i meant by the other brother earlier when i was talking about each alpha being changed,"it was the other brothers turn to put ideas and features in" thanks for giving a better explanation how it works, From a17 forward you can really see the differences in play styles by what was added.

Updating to V1.3 messed up all my graphics settings, so I reverted to 1.2 on steam, and lost all my xp levels and challenges. Completely killed my drive to play that world. These major updates should not break my @%$#ing world everytime and force me to start a new one. STOP UPDATING THE GAME ONCE A MONTH

Every time a new version comes out I copy the steam folder to a separate folder. Copy saves folder to a separate folder. Then all that's needed is a quick edit of serverconfig.xml to point to new folder. Create a new shortcut then job done.

I don't do this in case anything breaks, I just maintain many different versions with various combos of mods

Reverting is never gonna be a good idea. Especially for something as easy to fix as graphics settings. Not sure why you thought going back to 1.2 would fix that anyway.

If you are afraid of losing progress, either turn off auto updates for 7 Days, or make a copy and play from that instead of the Steam copy.

You should never try to load a save into a new version and then try to load it into an older version.  It will almost always fail because when you load it into a new version, that new version will update the save for the new version, making it incompatible with an older version.  If you want to do so, back up your saves first.  As far as updates, this game is still being developed.  If you don't want to deal with updates, set Steam to stay on a specific version and don't update until you're ready.  The updates are going to keep coming for the next couple of years.
