PC Unity RTX for 7D2D?

If you've been keeping up with tech news lately, you know Unity recently announced they are bringing RTX support to the Unity engine.

What are the chances we'll see Ray-Tracing in 7D2D?

lol, my guess is not likely since ppl have been complaining about lack of performance with this game since Alpha 1 release... RTX would only serve to make things a lot worse. And for what, a subtle difference in shadows, reflections and stuff that no one really cares about that much? For static world type of games, sure, RTX is a nice optional addition to games. For voxel fully destructible world type of games like this, no. Graphics cards need to jump ahead a few more generations before RTX and 4k gaming will be practical.

RTX right now is just a hype... like VR and 4k... it isn't ready and isn't worth it right now.

You won't even need an RTX for Ray Tracing (O), but as Fox says, there is really no point. Especially in a game like 7DTD where realistic landscape isn't a huge focus.

In 5 or 6 years it might be more of a standard. Probably sometime after everyone realises what a flop 8k and 12k resolutions are.

That's hilarious. Such a manipulative move on Nvidia's part... making ppl pay a premium for their RTX cards only to find out anyone can have Ray Tracing. Even AMD users are finding ways of enabling it. Hell, even G-Sync is now being supported on a lot of Free-Sync monitors.

OP, are you kidding? Look at the shaders in 7dtd now - they're miserable! Look at these plasticine, unnatural reflections of surfaces. They just don't fit. It's crap.... what is RTX ?

(this is not an insult, i understand that they just need to pay more attention)

Raytracing would make the player reflect in mirrors ... unnecessary jumps scares, especially give those UMA models...
