Unable to pick up forge due to stone

I am unable to pick up the forge and move it, as i cannot in any way TOTALLY remove ALL stone from it! It will not smelt all stone and leaves 1! as a result i am stuck please help!

It is as if an odd amount of stone is left and will not get used up, all other materials go to zero, but stone will not empty! PLZ HELP!

Can't you pick it up anyway with the 1 stone in it? I haven't done it in a while but I thought it didn't matter if there was anything in the forge. I thought you would just lose what was in the forge if you picked it up.

I believe it was changed to not allow picking it up because people would lose everything.  But AFAIK, there is something that can be made that will use up all of a resource.  Certain items have different values of resources needed.  Take a look at what you can make and compare it to what you get from a single stone smelted and you should find something that will empty it.

I think the problem comes with advanced engineering.

If you put points in there, forge recipes use less resources, ending up in uneven numbers.

I currently have 29998 of 30000 sand in a forge.

Melting 1 sand or broken glass would add 4 sand to the forge storage, which will fail because my forge can only hold 2 more.

Crafting out 1 sand uses 4 sand aswell.

29998 / 4 = 7.499,5

30000 / 4 = 7.500

So it would be impossible to craft out all the sand to be able to pickup the forge.

So either TFP need to allow to pickup non empty forges again and lose the resources left in the forge or melting should add 2 instead 4 more sand to fill the forge up to 30000 sand, which then can be crafted out completely.

I don't think any player would have a problem, losing 2 sand.

The skill does not determine the smelting of the original resources. But there are some peculiarities with the materials. Cement requires 12, 11 or 10 stone depending on the skill. Most likely, cement was smelted with the Advanced Engineering skill level 4. Then, indeed, 1 stone could remain. After raising the skill to level 5, it can no longer be smelted.

And who is stopping you from breaking the forge and making it again. In the middle of the game, the costs are already ridiculous.

Okay, so I did check and there isn't a way to get out 1 stone if you're higher than rank 2 Advanced Engineering.  The only option at that point is either have someone else craft something who hasn't leveled it or else just make a new one.  The forge is extremely cheap anyhow.  I'm surprised they didn't catch that issue.

I literally just did this .. moved a couple of forges, one of them couldn't be emptied from stone entirely, but it dropped a full stone when picking up. So that part works.

Do you have the land claim? You also might need to take out the tools manually, at least you do with Dew Collectors.

Odd because when I tested last night, I had everything out - no production, no smelting, no tools, no fuel - and it still said I had to empty it.  It did still have some unused fuel (timer left but no wood left), so maybe that affected it.  I don't feel like testing it again, so oh well.  :)
