True Survival

What is needed to grow mushrooms?

I was able to make mushroom seeds during the Farm quest.

Mushrooms grow in the dark or light in any dirt (or even on a wall) but the yield is low or tiled soil where the yield is better but the best place like most plants is in fertilized dirt since you get the most yield.

 
Nitrite seems pretty scarce. What is the best way to mine it. Surface boulders is seriously slow going and I haven't found any surface nodes yet. Ran around snow biome and didn't have much luck either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Desert underground has it, wasteland, underground, according to my looking at biome xml. Those are the easiest lol Nitrate is meant to be a late game item, so it would be easy to find early game.

 
Learn to build with iron - gathered the wrench, now it says gather iron 0/1000 did that but it never changes from 0/1000. How do I get past that?

Did you gather iron sheets? You have to use the wrench on iron blocks that give iron sheets. I found the best place for me was the tall towers beside the factory since the blocks where only 300 HP's but gave sheets and nuts and bolts that you need in the next phase.

So I just installed this mod, I noticed I now have two Program_Files_(x86) So which one is the one used by the mod? If I want to edit XMLs or add prefabs, which one do I use?

Oh, and the game won't start. The launcher just tells me that it's "Refreshing Mods for True Survival A16.A" and is stuck on that.

Also, what XML do I edit to edit the settings as Spider suggested for proper gameplay?

Is there any beginner guide for A16.2? Because there's a lot to get your head around here.

I wish there was an install guide video, because I can't seem to get it right.

You need to wait when it says "Refreshing Mods...", don't kill the application, it is not frozen. It just takes a while (only while installing, not every time you start the game). It takes about an hour on my computer. If you killed the process, I suggest you delete the mod completely and start installation anew.

 
I manged to get it working, though I have a small complaint. The world spawning is just awful. So far, there's only one biome which is made up of entirely steep hills and ♥♥♥♥. Is there a way to level this out? Maybe add more pine forest? That's my preferred biome.

PROBLEM: permanent death when not intentional

It's day 47-ish on Spider's mod and I lost my toon for what I believe must have been leaving on-time game/server with 90-100 wellness.

Returned to 'puter later that day to discover my toon was perm-death? THIS IS WEIRD!?!??!?!?!?

I am running a server with no wits about programming. is there any possible solution to this since I am have ZEROx200% interest in starting from scratch?

Guys, really, this is a problem and wiping the player file does not cut the mustard. PLEASE DONT CHANGE PERMAMENT DEATH. Just playing thru your game mod with as much integrity as possible... but this is a problem that I feel only a coder can handle at this point.

Any takers?

Please help me.

I did everything according to the instruction:

- removed 7d2d and deleted remaining files

- redownloaded 7d2d from Steam

- downgraded from 16.3 to 16.2

- opened 7d2d mod laucher, choose "True survival A16.2" (Use EAC unchecked) pressed "Play mod"

I waited quite long time until install was finished, game run but I got the error message:

"The Steam client is not running or no connection possible"

If I've been starting vanilla game using Steam - the game run normally.

ummm i usually got this error if the steam icon not active / appeared in my bottom-right side desktop. just to make sure, try accessing your steam library / profile by right clicking the steam icon, and leave that steam window opened. then start the true survival mod.

you mean you forgot to log-out of the game and leave your character starving in-game ? happened once in the official server, a player with 100+ level got overslept while leaving his char online in game, starved until got perma-death. not sure if there's any workaround on that tho, the player do start all over again from scratch.

I've checked icon, Steam is active. Reinstall/install/reboot didn't help.

Install game and mod on the my old laptop - all is ok, game's running.

Added lately: I've installed lastest version 7D2D Mod Launcher and... all works fine!
