Any reason the trader would be closed during the day...

The open sign isn't even lit up...

I thought it was strange he was closed during the day....

What time was it? They don't open or close according to your settings. Even if you have dawn at 6am, they still won't upon until something like 9.

Hello.

As soon as traders were implemented, I had this bug on several maps on my PS4.

I reported it, but despite my attempts to understand how it worked, I was unsuccessful.

I fear this bug is still lurking.

Yes, it's the trader in the desert biome... It was just after the airdrop, so 1230-100 pm... Never been closed before during the day... And there's no bandits on console, I can't even imagine what a pain in the ass that must be... So, it's just a little past noon, I'll have to run to the guy in the burnt biome and see if he's closed as well....

OK, I thought they were empty bandit forts. No open sign, no trader, just some kind of fort. Didn't realize it was a bug.

Yes, console - that's all I've played.

The desert trader is the easiest one to still utilize when "broken" like this. Jump on the little mound of dirt in front of the outside wall, then onto the grey electric box (or maybe its the grey box on the inside, there is a way to still jump in a broken desert trader). Sometimes just going and using him works, if not you can jump out a similar way from the inside. Another way you can fix this is to drive by after closing, forcing the closing noise, and not come back to the block till well after opening. I have also had one time where the trader wasn't open and then we found out protection for his area was off and it fixed it by hitting the trader walls? Weird, but it worked when we did that.

Thats a bug.Had it a couple times. It saved wrong,no matter how long you play it will never open up.

Sorry thats a start over or do what I did and consider that trader dead. The other ones will be alright.

Did not think of breaking in to see what would happen.Thats simply genius my friend.

Now looking forward to having that happen again.

How did you know protection was off?

As an addendum, if you are willing to risk a busted leg, you can nerd pole up on frames as close as possible and jump in. We have fixed a (snow trader with log walls) trader doing this as well. Usually if you can get in and talk to the trader it "resets?" and then he will be operating normally.

Interesting.

I might give that a try.

My hubby was super mad he broke the trader and wasted a trip over there, (ok maybe not his fault) so he decided he was just going to mine the small boulders in the area, looked up and noticed he was really close without any protected noise, kept advancing till it was obvious.

I still say the only times we have had a trader break have been when someone is in said trader, or trader protected zone, until it is late enough to be kicked out... We haven't ever had one stay broken after using the different ways I had mentioned though.

Did you leave the traders main door open after you left?

I don't remember where I heard about that possibly causing problems, but it sounded reasonable at the time.

Its good to know there are a few "fixes".
