Town Hall Info

I was sad to see no fishing or at least not in the cards. I think that would give water sources some actual use.
They would probably have to actually do water sources before they worry about that. Yes, some maps have a water border, but not all maps. And their river stamps and lake stamps are small and usually only on the edges of the maps. Adding fishing and then telling you it's only available on some maps and you have to go near the map's edge to do it wouldn't be appreciated by many people. I know there are some ponds on some tiles or POI, but they are relatively few (culverts/ditches and aqueducts aren't going to have fish in them) and may not appear on a map, depending on the randomization of the POI placements.

Yeah it would be nice to see water sources are more then just road blocks.
I accidently on purpose road my bicycle thru a river last night cause I was to lazy to to ride down the road to a bridge. It went right thru it, is it the same with all the road vehicles?

We are maybe getting apiaries, chicken coops and dyes back with a possibility of hair and beard coloring also. Things most mods have had for a decent amount of time but better late than never i guess.

The demolition quest looks cool but maybe work on optimizing the game first?

The line by Richard about these things causing delays for future updates are their own fault. This isn't the communities fault you folks implemented a horrible update. This is a failure on your part and the teams. No idea who you consult with for these updates and ideas but you folks need to find someone else. Maybe ask the modders and some content creators since they seem to be more in touch with the community.

The whole clothing layer system and many other things they want to add in were already in the game. These folks keep removing things that worked and what made this game popular only to realize they messed up and have to add it back in which is what causes delays and problems.

The town hall was a 7/10 not because I'm upset that they aren't doing this or that its because they are adding back in things that worked, things that folks said hey improve on this and they decided to do their only thing only to realize they messed up and have to redo all the work again and then they have the audacity to try and shift the blame to us? That its our fault we don't like the low effort update they implemented into the game and now they gotta fix it cause folks are review bombing the game and top content creators are saying hey this sucks.

Well we have water in the RWG and it's often turned down or off due to it having little use. Previously you could fill jars.

I think they have enough water sources from lakes and rivers to make it work. Animation would likely be the biggest drawback. You could make the fishing rod require bait which will balance it between farming and other food sources.
Well we may have zombie bees from the plaque spitter :)
We had actual zombie bees way back when. Now they are vultures.

I don't think the owner was making a statement of blame or fault. I took the statement as entirely in the realm of project management. That is, this work will come first, delaying other planned features. Just a statement of fact towards managing expectations for future delivery.

Or because they knew there would be questions about bandits in the future. Either way I agree the developers did an amazing job responding to feedback.

TFP removed tons of good stuf since A16! What they will add is not terrible but too small for a game update in 2025! So much time was wasted on all sorts of crap like cutting out a bunch of mechanics/content without any logic explanaition, fixing mythical exploits of bases/AIs in the singleplayer game Carl, when it actually could be spent on upgrading A16 without removing anything in result to make game even more great! And after players started bombing game review and big youtubers saying what they must - TFP started to "actually" listening and admiting they were wrong...it took 8 years for this! How pathetic 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Come now. I don't think it a big deal, either. More of Freudian slip. But I thought Rick might wish he'd stopped after, "we want to make clear, this is going to delay bandits even more," to paraphrase. But he didn't stop there, did he? He said something like, "you guys request stuff like this and it's going to put us behind."

No sense making a mountain of a mole hill, imo, but that's not open to interpretation and to tell people they didn't hear it is gaslighting.

*A* quest per biome. Don’t see why that would be such a barrier to people. You don’t engage with quests at all? Then in each biome you’re basically doing a tier 2 infested (as you won’t have progressed beyond tier 1 quests with the traders). Pretty rudimentary for any player after the first few days.
As long as quests can be disabled (that is coming according to the stream), they can't require quests for biome progression.

Yes. All vehicles can drive slowly through water. You will eventually drown it you are underwater too long, though. But you can get out of the vehicle and swim to the surface for now air.

I think you misunderstood. I was pointing out that RWG water sources are placed near the edges of the map. Ponds on tiles or POI are limited, and only those wouldn't be near the edges. Unless they changed it in RWG, try making a nap with many rivers and lakes and you will see they only appear near the edges. If they add fishing without changing that, there will be more negative feedback than is they don't add fishing at all.

Also, I'm not saying they shouldn't add fishing. So long as they do it well. I'm just saying they have to work on water sources/RWG first.

Overall, very positive changes they are planning to try to fix the 2.0 misstep. What I didn't hear that I would have liked to hear, was to do away with the fixed trader progression and going back to random maps actually being random, instead of choosing from a small set of options. I liked it much better when you didn't know what trader you were going to be sent to next instead of the way it is now.

If we are lucky, that will be an option they add. It is just info in the rwgmixer, so making it an option in RWG would be easy.

I disagree. It is open to interpretation. Stating my opinion is not gaslighting.

Agreed but I feel like he could have said it better

Like "hey due too these changes bandits will be slightly delayed"

Wasn't referring to you specifically. I get where you get your impression, which is Rick's initial statement. It didn't stop there, but that's where the Fruedian slip comes in.

I swear to God..the propensity to make mountains of molehills....
