Time to reflect

You’re right! I apologize. It wasn’t my intention to make things up and I admit I was mistaken. I had read such sentiments elsewhere at the same time I read your comments and remembered wrong who said what. I adjusted my reply.

As to your AI analysis it is very impressive but is only as strong as the assumption that your view and the negative comments it gathered actually represent the majority of the player base—or even the core. I asked AI whether forum posts represent the views of the majority.

“Usually not. People who post on game forums are a self-selecting minority of the player base, and their views can differ quite a bit from the “silent majority” who just play without engaging in discussions. A few dynamics explain this:
  • Motivated voices: Players who are highly passionate—whether positively or negatively—are more likely to post. That means complaints, balance concerns, or strong praise are overrepresented compared to the average player’s more neutral experience.
  • Skewed demographics: Forum users often represent a specific slice of the community: typically more hardcore, more invested in mechanics, and more likely to follow news closely. Casual players, who make up the majority in many games, are often absent.
  • Echo chambers: Regular posters influence each other, creating group consensus that may feel like “everyone thinks this,” when in fact it’s just common among that small active group.
  • Visibility bias: Because developers and players see those forum posts, it’s easy to assume they represent most players, but actual in-game behavior (e.g., what characters people play, how they spend time/money) often tells a different story.”

As you said, time will tell whether the silent majority aligns with your views or not.

The reviews on 7d2d have take a big downturn. THIS is the silent majority speaking and why TFP had a presentation mistakenly called a town hall.

You are doing NO service to the game trying to misrepresent things.

And btw I was one of the silent players who rarely if ever game to the forums. I decided to come here and start posting because I saw the effort Jawoodle made voicing his concerns and thought maybe I should do the same. I love this game.. I have three games I play steady then flavors of the month. 7d2d is always part of the mix. Then small sessions off and on of Stallaris and Bannerlord.

AND I am one of the silent (though no longer silent) majority. I don't get upset if a game dev adds a feature to a game that I dont or wont use. I don't assume everyone likes playing any game the same way I do.

Yes, I enjoyed it before and I enjoy it even more now. Why is that such a challenging concept? Is it because you feel different and you can't fathom different opinions?

My opinions on the game is actually not affected by what others feel. For most part, 2.0 is an improvement. I particularly like the new zombies, the better graphics, the less level terrain, the new POIs, and the changes to the perk trees. All of these compensates for what I didn't like, resulting in an improvement of the game. I also appreciate the changes that will now be implemented after the Town Hall, making the game even better.

Is it hard to hear that someone likes something you dislike?

TFP does shine with the POIs getting more and more interesting with each new version of the game. And the World Gen is amazing now also. I love to just drive through the towns sometimes and I will see areas that remind me of some RL spot I know. Amazing really in a fully (except for traders) destructible world (at least till we hit bedrock). Good stuff.

No need to shout. It doesn't strengthen your argument. It's not me misrepresenting anything. The OP values AI analysis so I quoted an AI response to my question, "Do forum posts represent the majority of players?". It was the AI response that says typically they don't.

What I said was time will tell whether or not the majority truly is represented by those who post on the internet. I'm not taking a side. I'm simply saying that it is impossible to know. Speculate, yes. You are claiming that you and those who are downvoting 7 Days to Die are the silent majority. I'm not claiming my side to be the silent majority. I'm just saying nobody can actually know.
