Things I'd love to see in 7 Days to Die

Firstly, I absolutely love this game. I got my whole family playing it.

The ability to turn off hoard night and have wandering hoards sporadically instead of varying sizes and frequency
Craft from containers
Beeping to open trader gates while on a vehicle
Learn by doing
More zombie types
Bandits
More vehicle types
More gun types
Outside of story mode and navasgane traders not locked in to specific biomes
More work stations.

Some of that, as you may know, is coming in future releases.
Some others are available through mods.

I think your wishes will be granted in the end. :)

There are already wandering hordes, although they are definitely small compared to horde nights (10ish zombies).

Unsure we'll see craft from containers.

Seems like an easy thing to add, but not sure it's worth the trouble.

Apparently might come back in an hybrid way.

I believe there might be more eventually.

Coming in 3.0.

Not sure if they are going to add more. Would be cool for variety, but is it worth the trouble?

Same as vehicles. Cool but apart from novelty would it really change much?

There is a sandbox mode coming.

Chicken Coop coming (probably before 3.0) and I seem to recall seeing somewhere they might add a few high-end workstations?

Pretty sure bandits will be next to be added in update 4.6.

Dunno what I was thinking at the time, I meant 2.6, not 4.6. Still waiting for em to add 8 player multiplayer on console too.

They won't be added in 2.6, 2.7 or 2.8 unless TFP massively change their plan.

Bandits are the main part of the 3.x branch. The other big thing is the event system.

After that, the roadmap had an UI/Main menu overhaul and a new quest type. Very cool things, but not exactly major update defining.

Pure speculation on my part, but with the tidbits they are planning new workstations and some hybrid new lbd, maybe we get:

2.6: Chicken coop+other workstations +fixes
2.7: LBD hybrid system+ fixes
2.8: Sandbox mode+lots more option to fine tune playthrough including trader stuff and item abundance +fixes (this one was confirmed by madmole)

3.0 Bandits and the rest said in roadmap

Maybe @madmole is still in a festive mood and wants to give some spoilers for 2.6 or 2.7 as a post-Christmas gift? 🎅

Yeah, can't wait to see the new stuff they add, but man, it's gonna take a long time. Thankfully, they add new stuff every 2-3 months instead of 6+ months.

2.0 Stable was June 2025
2.1 Stable was July 2025
2.2 Stable was August 2025
2.3 Stable was September 2025
2.4 Stable was September 2025
2.5 Stable was December 2025

Using that timeframe, 2.6 would be somewhere between January and March 2026. Wouldn't expect much in January because of the holidays, but we never know.
