PC The traider you're at when you complete a tier should be able to send you to the next trader

I'm watching a beginner on youtube who  completed her tier 2 quests with with Rekt. She got the tier 2 quest reward but she did not get the mission to go to trader Bob and she's very confused about what's going on. She just starting and she's getting her ass kicked in the burnt biome and staying in the forest because it's easier.

This is causing confusion that you don't want.

It's quite possible there is no trader Bob on her map. There was none on the map I played, and it was a pregen. The games RWG doesn't guarantee all the traders exist. Hopefully you mentioned that in your comments.

Did she go to Trader Jen to get the Trader Bob open route quest?  Trader Rekt doesn't send you to Bob next, just Trader Jen.

Each trader only sends you to the next one in line.  Rekt to Jen, Jen to Bob, Bob to Hugh, Hugh to Joel.  They apparently feel it is necessary to have such progression to force players to go to other biomes.  I don't like it, but the open trade routes quests aren't really important anyhow.  Yes, the rewards are improved over the old 1500XP reward, but they still aren't important and can be skipped.  I'm playing on a non-RWG map that doesn't keep traders in specific biomes and started with Joel.  I didn't get any open trade route quests until I went to another trader.  I'm fine with that.

I mean the reason they need to do this is because they planned out the progression poorly, most survival games has unique materials in each biome that you use to craft more and more powerful gear, but in 7dtd? every biome basically offers the same materials. The only unique one is the desert as its the only place oil shale is.
