PC The Offtopic, A17 thread.

Ok so we can expect the release to be SOON.
awesome i will now die happy knowing the patch will release sometime in my grand kids lifetime or their grand kids lifetime or just maybe before the end of time.

that clears up everything i will now jump out my basement windows good bye world.
Correct. ;d <3

What is the point you are making? I would actually like to know.
That they made about 50 mil in total so far up till now from Kickstarter...Not to mention the Kickstarter money also which is ummm..hold on

$507,612 + 50 mill

Lot of money up till now....just food for thought

2.5 million copies sold
2.5

X

$20.00

=

50 Mil
Except half or more go to a store, digitally or brick n mortar. Then you have to consider cost of the forums for 4 or 5 years, cost of advertising, and even the cost of madmole's clicky keyboards for streaming.

You can't get that kind of click cheap, my freind!

FWIW, even with the bugs and various incomplete features, we've easily gotten FAR more than our money's worth.

As much as I'm eager to play again without zombies doing the doh see doh, and playing the new puzzle pois, we have a crap ton of unplayed games we can catch up on in the mean time.

When I saw that list of bugs the other day, that cooled my jets for expecting a release soon.

Rather than the emoticon trolling, I'd rather see a general list of big bugs yet to resolve so I can form an educated opinion on when we might finally see a17e drop.

I've been watching the thead daily for weeks watching the emoticon trolling, hoping that that was at least some indicator of progress.

I'm hoping now for a halloween release and rgw working again at that point.

That is true, but steam gets a cut and there are salaries, computers, over head, taxes.

Plus you are assuming all 2.5 were full price. I bet a TON of them got it during Steam Sales.

That is not all profit.

You forgot about the 30% that goes to steam (or less ? i dont remember the correct value) and also the game were several times on sale + not all the time for 20 bucks :)

But i think what the will say is : They got so much money to develop a AAA Game with that amount.. i mean even when they earned 20Mil after every payment.. i would say that is enough money to pay 20+ devs for a few Years? and for a Game like this is should be enough to get ready SOON™

But iam just sitting there in my chair..following this thread and think.. ARE WE THERE YET?! :p

My dad owned a couple businesses, small ones, but big or small they have the same type of bills. Brick and mortar have upkeep, insurance, utilities and other needs. Employees, besides a paycheck, may need insurance, depending on how many and what is required for having to provide it.

There is a lot that can cost running a business and that always needs to be considered. But, the fun pimps have made a lot of money, as Joel stated ones, doing a play on his handle name He is a mole-t-millionaire. He was/is wealthy form his business before he started making this game, and probably the others were also.

Do they deserve it? I think so, they have put in countless hours, and they are more than the regular 9-5 type jobs. The emotional toll on them as from the past years of will we make it, will we be able to continue to do this, okay, it seems like we made it, can we continue to make it or will we crash and burn?

Didn't go back to the start of the conversation, so this is just my take on how much they have earned and do they deserve it. Every penny.

You guys and gals are going to love this. I got a big laugh out of it. hope you do. Capp00 posted about the A17 delay, telling his viewers to not feel that because of TellTale TFPs are going to bail out on them.

one person wrote a remark and here is my response to a remark of his.

"real developers on real development teams always follow a planned schedule" Are you for real? This is coding, you can't follow a schedule in work like that. Finding a problem is like finding a jigsaw puzzle piece for one spot in a thousand pieces inside the box.

his response to me is priceless, I actually laughed at it.

@Janna Clark .. first off.. women can not be good coders because of the lack of emotional control and defect in logic ability. What you picture in your tiny little mind is called a 'code butcher' by real coders. All programs have a purpose and that purpose can only be realized with proper planning and implementation. The only caveat is real experience, blindly believing that the picture in your head is a reality will never replace the actuality of it all. You are simply ignorant and wrong. nothing personal, just saying.

I'm at a loss for words, I have never read such a remark in my life of blatant prejudice of the ability for a woman to think logically and be able to do computer programming.
Just realized that even though I found this person funny, some who are overly sensitive could be hurt by some of his remarks. And I received a couple more that I ignored.

He is a troll. Want to get me upset, tried from these to making sexual remarks of my lacking some areas. I'm still laughing at him. I'd too old to feel insulted at some of his remarks.

So, he can troll away, it is giving me a good laugh, posted that on the youtubers channel that he was a troll and for others to ignore him.

Dear Dev's,
Could you please delay the game more?

Last weeks I have been playing Spiderman, now it's FIFA all the way.

In 3 weeks RDR 2 will drop.

In December I will be playing Kingdom Hearts.

So please do a great job and focus on a release in February.

Ain't nobody got time fo all games.

Thank you!
Stop lying to yourself. Even if Half Life 3 came out as the same time as A17 you would only play A17.

Let's just hope A17 will be out before Half Life 3

Things I've done since putting 7D2D down in December... Played 2 adult soccer leagues. Watched my kids play through 2 soccer seasons each. Made my first trip out of country. Flew in a plane for the first time ever. Played WoW for a week(garbage). Played through Fallout 4 again in prep for 76 beta. Played EQ2 for a few months. Finished 2 more IT certifications. Got a new job. Went to my first pro soccer game. Went to 2 college football games.... my point? Some of you really need to get out of these forums and off the devs backs and let them do their job. They will deliver, eventually, a game we can all enjoy and hopefully be proud to suggest to our friends. All the "are we there yet" and "they are too slow" stuff is not good for you. Go do something else and let the dev's take care of business. No matter how much you push or taunt, it wont speed anything up. I check the forums once every couple weeks and see what #gate (#emojigate?) is happening and then come back later. It's just not worth your time to live bashing the F5 key .

Did Half Life 3 win 30 or 40 Game of the Year awards before its released? Possible Best Game Ever by PC gamer...

Yeah, I'll be playing HL3 if it comes out first.

maybe, maybe not... We'll never know because half life 3 isnt braggadocios... unlike SOME people!

Maybe they delay the update to the time before Christmas sales?

But then the Experimental should come enough before that to find the most serious bugs.

@Madmole

I see alot of ppl here that are waiting for the game, and some want it NOW (me included)

Can't you just release it now? I know its much more todo for you guys, and it comes with bugs still. But let us see it :)

Im not begging, im asking :)

We are here for a reason, and that is; we love the game and want to get in on it all. we can help with bugreport aswell, and that is a good thing i think.

Im getting all suicidal of this waiting :p

There is life after 7DTD.

Not languishing after something you don't have control of is most definitely the best way to spend this time.

I hit the "post-game depression" thing when you either finish or put aside a game you were heavily invested into, didn't know what to do with my spare time (if I should have some that day). Then, just started exploring other games, working down my steam list, played Minecraft with the wife and kids, tried "The Raft" which was a neat diversion, among various other titles that had trouble keeping my interest.

When A17 blows up, I want to be fresh and hungry for it. I haven't hacked through a blood moon horde in almost 2 months, and when the next definitive "7 Days experience" is ready, so will I.
