I started 7 days with my brother. The first day was surreal and very fun looting. The second day we wanted those rare spears and guns and excited we were to obtain machine guns 1-3 rare. We agreed this game will take months if not years to get to max level and obtain rare resources in abundance. This was going to be a fun year. On day 4 of playing the game I,Me not my bro realized there is a built in gameshark in the game. Why wait for the loot or the grind when you can give yourself x amount of XP or any item your want. This forbidden discovery I gave in to tempt myself with just a try of a couple items. Half a day later I have everything. Abundant resources and legendary weapons and armor. I did not tell my bro and was smart not to give myself xp for he was still in the bubble you must grind for it all it the only way. I envy that he feels like he is forced to survive in 7 days but that is not true. The developers have given us the tools they use in standard original game. I told my bro I grinded and learned perks to obtain items I gifted him rapidly...... skipping our game stages. 1 week into the game he has every mag read and I do too secretly. I feel as if I was an older bro helping him. By 3 weeks I am bored of this game. Its the same POI nothing to look forward too(I have everything in great abundance far more than bro). My bro is now playing other games way more than this game cuz we have been through it all. What was suppose to be a year of this game was shortened to less than a month. This was last year. I have not been stoked for 2.0 its just nice little features but is the same everything. The gameshark built into the game is a deadly weapon that can kill the game fast. Like a overstimulation that lasts for very short time then it must crash. This is the same with Ark and it was the same thing. Console was the only excuse for forced survival and enjoyment but its the same as PC. You can argue with me but its just facts. Shove a red button in your face "Click here to obtain everything" and you'll find cheating is the only way now with 7 Days. How can you fool yourself to play the game without cheating? Why do cheaters cheat? They burn through games cuz it gets boring too quick....if you have everything given to you.

Lol. You don't have to use it. If you can't be trusted with not using it, then have someone else start the game with Creative Menu disabled and you won't have the option to use it.

However, you clearly didn't understand what this game was when you started. You can have max level of all equipment and more resources than you know what to do with and have read every magazine and book and schematic (if you find the schematics) within about 40-70 hours real-time, depending on how you play. The game is designed to be played over and over again rather than some game you're going to spend a year on in a single save. Max level can also be reached within that time period.

It never ceases to amaze me the lack of self-control some people have. :P

I've seen similar posts on the subreddit asking for the DM menu to be removed from the game because "it's impossible to enjoy playing when you can just go into God Mode for the entire game".

You know because some people play the game for the challenge not just to get the best stuff as fast as possible.

I get speedrunning and minmaxing... but to those who complain the length of the game is too short because they deliberately engaged in these strategies? Scratching my head on that one.

See that's the thing its not lack of self control. I'm not dumbed down enough to fool myself into those options or rather having a simple easy to please mindset. People like me are hard to please but are also keen and resourceful. You do whatever the game provides...but your replies are so generic to the acme of my problem...it's exactly why the replies are "just don't do it" "lack of self control" "tear face omfg" "complainer here is conclusion of my not getting your acme". These replies can't understand. You can't see a 7 days to die without command console where your forced to survive. Then when you are in high days you've achieved something. So it has to be a fact that each one of you are simple minded easy to please and gullible to a gamers oath enforcing common social media replies. Are any of you far reached or just generalized all in one box..

So this seems to be about the creative and debug menu reading the answers, still not reading those walls of text with no paragraphs.

That literally doesn´t effect you at all if you don´t use it. End of story. I have seen several early access survial games that didn´t have it, and the community wanted it and there was only very few that didn´t want it.

It doesn´t hurt anybody. Server admins do need it. And why would you care if someone uses it in their SP? None of your business. You are clearly just looking for something to rant about, no matter what.

I don't think this will truly solve the problem as it is, so I'll offer a good idea.
Join a multiplayer server.
Commands cannot be used by participants, and if you use cheat codes you'll get banned, so you probably can't use them.

Also, it's not appropriate to discuss speedrunning and other play that pursues efficiency as problematic.
I love speedrunning, so I've complained about the magazine system, which makes the goal too close once you understand how it works, and unnecessarily far away if you don't.
However, I'm always at an advantage over other players and I always get praised by other players, so for now I think it's fine the way it is.

Even speedrunners who want to play a game that takes a long time to reach the goal can make their own mod to make a game without a magazine, and that's what I'm actually doing now.

Simple fact:

Whether they are more simple minded, more gullible or have more self control than you, who cares, THEY have more fun with the game. ;)

Most things that are truly hard or meaningful share a common truth: the journey is often more rewarding than the destination (the grind matters more than the endgame). In a world where cheat codes, speed-runs, hacks, and min/maxing are prevalent; it’s easy to forget that sometimes the real flex is just showing up, grinding it out, and enjoying the journey.

Self control and self actualization are character traits that need exercise. I truly pity the person who believes that character traits and those who subscribe to them are simple minded, easy to please, and gullible. In fact its quite the opposite; it’s the ones chasing every shortcut who burn out first—bored, frustrated, and still searching for something meaningful and fun in a game they never really played.

Other than cheat codes, those things are impressive exactly due to the difficulty and actual work involved.

Speed runs, a combination of knowledge and execution, the actual leaders train for years for a perfect run in whatever.
Hacks, utilizing a premade one is of course not an achievement, but finding good exploits and refining them into hacks thou; years of practice.
Min/maxing, is more of a practice than a feat in itself, looking for the best way to X; basically a lifestyle of practice, jogging the old noggin.

Perhaps I don't fully understand your dilemma, but you could play on a server where you don't get access to the console or cheat codes.

Notwithstanding that very few players put in that level of effort to get good, research tricks, and embrace the game via actual game play.

It simply further supports that the journey is better than the destination and further undermines the OPs assertion that CM availability ruins the game.
