The 7D2D Mod Launcher - A Mod Launcher for 7 Days to Die

I do have links. The Mod Launcher keeps indexes, but I'm not sure if the download links are still available. The ones on github probably still exists, but it could be hit or miss.
You can try this: Click on Open URL, and add in this: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SphereII/7D2DConfig/master/Valmar.xml

Be sure to use the Download From Steam option, and pick the right alpha. I think those are A15.

Many thanks, I'll give this a try soon. :)

Hi Sphereii,

Whenever I install previous versions of vanilla 7DTD (from A12.5 ~ A16) I always get the message: "The system cannot find the file specified". Install method was via 'Download From Steam'.

Yet the folder and files were created and I have the green tick. Looking back through this thread you suggested to one person it could be the spacing so could it be your mod launcher path names as such: "7D2D Mod Launcher Installer" and "SphereII Software" and perhaps I should reinstall launcher without spacing - would it mess with save games and mods though?

Log is below. Also, I can only install them by launching mod launcher with Admin privileges but that's not a big deal - otherwise everything else is great thanks!

Can't get mod launcher to open at all

Hello,

I've enjoyed (thank you very much, BTW) and used this mod launcher for a couple of years now. I've been running DF on it, with my last play just last week.

I got an error the last 2 times I played it, but when I did, I could click on the "x" or the ok and it would launch. Today, I am unable to open the launcher at all. I've deleted it and downloaded a more than a couple of times, I've tried repairing it also. It keeps erroring and won't open.

This is what it says (I can't copy it, so I'm typing it out):

Error Starting Application:System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException:InvalidArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'.

Parameter name: SelectedIndex

as System.Windows.Forms.ComboBox.set_SelectedIndex(int32 value)at_7D2DLauncher.frmMain.LoadAlphaLIst() in C:\Users\jkilpatrick\Documents\GitHub\7D2DLauncher\7D2DLauncher\7D2DLauncher.cs:line 4148 at_7D2DLauncher.frmMain.InitializeScreen() in C:\Users\jkilpatrick\Documents\GitHub\7D2DLauncher\7D2DLauncher\7D2DLauncher.cs:line 438 at_7D2DLauncher.frmMain..ctor(String[] args) in C:\Users\jkilpatrick\Documents\GitHub\7D2DLauncher\7D2DLauncher\7D2DLauncher.cs:line 176

at_7D2DLauncher.Program.Main(String[] args) in C:\Users\jkilpatrick\Documents\GitHub\7D2DLauncher\7D2DLauncher\7D2DLauncher.cs:line 38

It shows up no matter what. Please help. I also saved it to the TMP folder and ran it, it didn't work.

When you said you saved it TMP, are you talking about the mod launcher itself, or did you try these steps:

1) Download directly: https://github.com/7D2DModLauncher/Database/blob/master/ModLauncher.sqlite?raw=true

2) Open up explorer to %TMP%, and save the file there. Re-open the mod launcher.

I saved the mod launcher installer in the TMP file. Then tried to install the game launcher through the wizard from the TMP file. Which didn't work. I also changed the directory in my second attempt, to have it actually go there, since maybe it's a miscommunication of how I'm reading it. Either way, I'm still getting the same error. It will not open the launcher, it just gives me all that above.

An addendum, I downloaded and saved the ModLauncher.sqlite to the tmp file. Then tried to open the Launcher again, it still gave the same error.
Anti-virus software or any other security? The error means it couldn't load the database, so something if blocking or corrupting it. Do you have any log files available?

No log files because the launcher isn't even opening. I haven't got any antivirus, except windows security. Where are all the extra places that the launcher might leave a file, as uninstall doesn't always get rid of everything. I've gone through and checked to make sure that the mod launcher is allowed through the firewall. I don't understand how it could be corrupted, if I'm deleting and reinstalling?

There's a log file called 7d2dlauncher.txt in the %TMP% folder. You may be able to manually grab it and add as an attachment here.

Someone mentioned there was registry settings for the mod launcher. That's part of the installer project, so I'm not even sure what they are.

Only thing in the tmp file is that modlauncher.sqlite that was requested to be placed there. I've deleted and reinstalled so many times, I don't see any other log. I've gone back in my trash even and can't find it.

How big is the modlauncher.sqlite file? If you manually download it, is it smaller or bigger than the version in %TMP%?

How can I find out more about the reg settings and/or installer project? if I have a corrupted reg entry, I don't mind editing, but I need to know where it is?

I'M Still having this problem

I don't HAVE any .XML files in the 7D2D folder, and I still get the error asking about some jkilpatrick's profile on a computer.

HELP!?

I adore this modlauncher and I really want to use it on my new format!

thank you

This is the temporary work around until I get it sorted:

1) Download directly: https://github.com/7D2DModLauncher/Database/blob/master/ModLauncher.sqlite?raw=true

2) Open up explorer to %TMP%, and save the file there. Re-open the mod launcher.
