PC That One Week That Madmole Went Away

Just hoping MM get his Moodswing over with and visits the Forum again.

Unwanted Discussions can be ignored or moved into other Forums ( like Roland did a couple of times before) instead of just abonden the Forum alltogether.

Or it was just an excuse to work on some super secret stuff^^

No moodswing, if someone like n2-something is always and forever picking at you no matter what you do, you'd most likely get pissed off as well. Criticism is cool and helpful, repetitive bashing with hardly a reason is not.

thats true, hence i mentioned the previous used Methods in moving N2´s Posts somewhere else.

"punishing" all other contributing Users and the Thousands of silent Readers is kind of childish.

Dont get me wrong, i totally get that one can get pissed off of that, but you might think one would have a thicker skin and/or seeing that this Bullcrap is only comming from a few.

 
This is pretty much why I asked Roland to enact stricter thread moderation this close to a18's release. MM really needs to bounce changes off us, and we need to be able to input possible enhancements'changes to improve the new ideas before a18 exp launches.

He's moderated the thread heavier in the past, and a few argumentative people are ruining it for everyone.

I SO thing the beginning quest chatter was valid though. for seasoned players, wasting a good portion of the first day just to get the perk points does kind of suck.

The best solution was having the quest code scan inventory and complete the quest chain in whatever order they are done in, (that at least helps some) or an option to just skip it and grant the perk point for day one character customization.

Honestly though, it should be last minute going to gold work after all the other features and content is done. We can just look at it as a working placeholder, and TFP should just acknowledge the idea for a last minute gold release pass.

 
So just to be clear... You want the thread heavily moderated, but are okay with the stuff you think is important NOT being moderated.

...just like n2n1 thinks his stuff is important.

It is not childish. Expecting someone to engage with you just because you want him to is childish. You reach a certain age where you recognize a pointless endeavor and the only solution is to walk away. I have been in many situations where I valued my time more than the argument was worth. What my time meant to the other party was irrelevant. He has engaged more than I have seen any other developer for many years. No one is being "punished" as you put it. He is simply refusing to be drawn in by it at this point. Let him recharge for the next round of yapping users at his heels and I am sure he will be back.

By far the best stealth game ever was Thief: The Dark Project, but it's so much easier when you can focus completely on the stealth aspects of the game.

If it is such a "waste" to do the opening quest on D1 then why do you do it? Is it because the time and effort is worth the reward?

Exactly. When you guys say you hate something say why and what you think should be done to fix it. Then ask yourself in the grand scheme of things how big of an issue is this really in the game?

The quests are voluntary so they can be ignored? Do you hate the fact that you have to go to the quest screen and cancel them?

Do you think you should be able to bypass the quests but still get the rewards? Just curios what the solution to this annoyance would be?

Those first few points don't have to be a reward for the starter quests, it's just how they're laid out now. From the RPG perspective of the game it'd make perfect sense to hand you a couple points to essentially "roll your character" and flesh him out a little.

Before the world went to hell were you :

a construction worker? ok points in carrying capacity, strength and mining

a cop? points in shooting and maybe stamina

an electrician? etc....

Yes the starter quests are easy, what's annoying is the fact you must do them in order for them to count, you have to place the block to upgrade it and place the campfire. All I want out of it is where's the trader and the points. That first dialogue you get hit with when you spawn could easily have a continue with starter quest and a gimmie my starter points button.

 
You’re spoiled rotten. Those who lived through the A17 dev diary knew what it was to miss Madmole. A 1-week absence is nothing.

Skyrim stealth sucks, nerf nerdpolling and fix the tutorial quests! #triggered

 
Four points is a huge, huge prize for doing something so easy and takes so little time. I’m not sure why it is taking “most of the day” for some veterans. I have actually timed it: by 930 in the morning, I have completed the quest items, have several hundred wood, made 20 flagstone blocks (for first day dogs & wolves) and am headed towards the trader to sell a few items as well as complete the quest. At no other time in the game do you get that kind of bonus from a quest so easy to complete.
