PC That One Week That Madmole Went Away

Nitpicking the tutorial, nerdpole and now saying skyrim's stealth is trash? Thats enough for me me. I'll check back next week to see if there are any sane topics to talk about or actual questions that I haven't answered 5000 times.
Way to go guys.....female dog and complain until the big guy doesn't want to interact with all the childish whining. Can't say as I blame him though. If I had to listen to all the negativity spewed towards my passion (as he does), I'd close up shop and give ya a real reason to complain. I often wonder if anyone ever considers how their constant nitpicking actually makes real people on the receiving end feel, cause it sure doesn't seem like it.

This is why we hire PR guys. I love the great Mole for the fact that he's forthright and honest but he really doesn't have the temperament for PR. Neither do I for that matter but that's why I wouldn't try.

Nobody was exactly nit-picking the tutorial. A suggestion was made based on the misinterpretation of punctuation.

Skyrims stealth system _does_ suck in places. The core mechanics are great but it's a bit odd to see a bandit leader sit down to finish his dinner with two arrows in his head while surrounded by the arrow-ridden corpses of his recently slaughtered henchmen.

Is it because I'm a portable picnic table? That's just machism.

Well, the next week should be quick for me here. I mostly only scan for MM/TFP posts and read those, so... Hopefully MM comes back refreshed at least, sometimes, we all just need a break anyway.

I don’t mind filling in. Let’s see....

“Get off your ass”

“Earn it if you want it”

“That’s stupid”

Okay, ready.

unlike alot of the complainers I like the sounds of most of the changes maybe next week will come with a video... and hopefully not of MM walking backwards.

Lol... he should do one walking backwards, nerdpoling, going through the starter quest, and overeating to 150

Linux user base is less than 2%. Thats almost extinct.

Do you know what 2% of 7.53 billion people (the number of people in the world) is? Also, from what I know, adding Vulkan support should just be a matter of changing project settings: https://answers.unity.com/questions/939160/getting-pink-textures-in-build.html. Linux is growing in popularity thanks to Proton. They'd do well to enable Vulkan support. Vulkan is cross platform and they can optimize the game better with only 1 API to focus on. I play the game using Proton and get better performance than native OpenGL, and the view distance is locked when using OpenGL.

It's already realistic or over generous on backpedal speed. Players just want no risk and no consequences then want to complain its too easy. Sorry we can't give you what you ask for because you never thought it through.
Just to clarify, what I was saying could be fun, is the chance to trip if you sprint backwards. But, however fun or realistic, it would get real old real quick for most players. So I wasn't actually wishing for it or complaining that it wasn't in game.

You can't use the total population of the world as the number of computer owners/users. Lots of people still do not have a computer or have access to one.

tldr
You have no idea what Alpha means do you?
It is kinda funny. The forth beta of the fourth iteration of an experimental alpha version. Sounds like an interesting build process :)

One must also not forget new gaming streaming services such as Google Stadia. This service runs on Linux servers and relies on Vulkan. For a test run e.g. Assassins Creed was ported to this platform. The client for Google Stadia runs on nearly all platforms and thus allows game developers to be present on several platforms without further ports.

For 7 Days to die I use the native Linux version because it runs well on my system and doesn't cause any problems. I have much less crashes in A17 than I had in A16.

About nerdpoling, what if wood frame would not be able to hold on more then one wood frame and a player. So 2 wood frames + player = ok. 3 wood frames (and more) and player = break down. While building we should remember to upgrade lower rows of wood frames before putting too many layers on the top. Rebar frames should be able to hold same amount of frames or maybe one frame more (3 rebar frames + player). This and preventing player from placing block while not on the ground, should stop nerdpoling, or did I missing something? Is it too much coding?

There is already a modlet that completely removes nerdpoling from the game. You cannot place a block as long as your feet are not on a surface. So if you don't want to have nerdpoling you can remove it from your game.

Such things he will never implement in his game.

Maybe until someone brave comes along and shows how cool it is. Then everyone will repeat after the successful pioneer.

There have been proposals to implement a misfire of the weapon - but it is also a new mechanic - and everyone is afraid of her.

Need a hero who will show by example that you can do not only what others have already done - but also to invent new ones ;)

Now this is the case in the gaming industry - everyone is afraid of the new.

Yes, such things are quite complex, (as the rules) you need to take into account many factors that can affect it in other situations. Developers reject and more simple and elegant solutions.

Ok, but this way, you can build two towers, one next to another. So it doesnt work as it should If you ask me.
But that's not nerdpoling anymore. This is called building a scaffold.

The physics in the game doesn't know vertical loads. Therefore it is not possible to realize what you suggest.

You can always find a workaround, but essence of the removal of "nerdpoling" - prohibition basic exploits, which can be based undesirable game situations.

Actually not a bad idea. Then again, if not Nerdpole, Players will do a Spiralstaircase up. Slightly more effort, same result.

its bugging me too, how easy it is to get on the Treasures of Big Dungeons.
The big POIs don't bring more loot than the small POIs and are therefore hardly worth the effort.

I do the big POIs only for quests. Otherwise I don't care about them at all. I can clear a smaller POIs in a matter of minutes. Building up to the roof of a big POI costs about the same amount of time. Furthermore there are about the same number of zombies waiting for me on the roof of a big POI as in a small POI in total.

But why do you even care how others play the game? Play the game as you see fit and give others the same freedom.
