Terrain is all messed up; missing chunks, land spikes, etc

There's a road that's 300 feet higher than the surrounding land. Lots of cabins, camps, and houses are on high plateaus. Stuff like that. Is there any way to fix this?

1. type of game (single player, multi-player, p2p hosting or client, rented dedi)

2. what mods?

3. screen shots or video showing this

4. coords from the F3 screen such as 1000 61 1000 (proper format is in the F3 along with seed name)

5. which alpha build (needs to be a16.4b8 or above)

6. try using new seeds if you havent

without this info, then you are only telling us you have a problem... none of my maps in a16.4b8 nor my rented dedi has this (speaking about the 300' roads)

the plateaus are a known issue in a16.4 RWG but we should not be seeing 300' roads

I don't know the coordinates but it's basically everywhere. A pack of gigantic black dogs just appeared out of nowhere and destroyed me so I'm pretty much considering deleting this game from my computer and salting the earth where it stood.

it's listed at #4 for how to provide the coords. (4. coords from the F3 screen such as 1000 61 1000 (proper format is in the F3 along with seed name))

Has anyone ever heard of a way to fix this? I tried digging next to some of the messed-up parts, and stacking up a few wood frames, but that did no good.

this is for a reason. Please read carefully.

so I walk into the Doctor's office and I say " Doc, I have a problem!"

Doc still looking at me and thinking to himself... OK... is he going to offer more info then that?

Jesus. I'm not saying "I have a problem." I'm saying exactly what is happening!

If there are as many possible solutions to "the road is 300 feet high" as there are medicines in a doctor's office, then fine. If not, what have other people done to fix this, please, so that I might try it?

To reproduce the problem, I think it would be helpful to provide the seed name you're using.
Where is the seed name located?

you click on the seed name when ever you hit "continue game" and is in your output log

Yea I had an issue like this too

On one of my worlds, it generated normally, but I stopped playing on that world for a pretty long time (all in alpha 16). I decided to come back to it after a month or two and the terrain was extremely glitched. The mountains all were un-scalable pretty much all natural spawned building were on high platforms and it was really weird. Don't know how to fix but I tested out spawning new worlds and everything was normal. So maybe you could try to just making a new world, and if that doesn't work just join a server.

Alright, the trader post that I can't reach is at coordinates -550,-2050.

At -725, -1750 there is a camp on a high plateau of land.

North of there, at -775, -1700 is a hundred-foot-high road.

I think the seed is "Sixth Sense 03".

And after flying around in god mode to get those coordinates, I sprain my leg while landing. Someone please tell me why I play this ♥♥♥♥ing game because right now I could use a reason.

3 reasons...

1. the game is fun

2. everyone read OR SHOULD have read the disclaimer of what an early access is and what can or will happen (everyone that paid money was paying for early access NOT a completed game)

3. some of us want to fix this game.

:)

You know, I think the seed may have changed mid-game. I'm almost positive I chose "Sixth Sense" not "Sixth Sense 3." Could that be it?

Thanks for the seed name and coordinates. Here's what you saw:

And here's what I see at that location.

Your game has put a trader where my game hasn't. This leads me to believe the advice Roland linked to is relevant. However, know that by deleting all that stuff you'll be wiping out any base building or other changes to the terrain you've made. If you have a base or something that needs to remain intact, I'm sure someone can go into more detail on picking out which files to save.

The good news, at least for the rest of us, is this looks like a problem on your installation, rather than a problem with the world generation writ large. Accordingly, I'll move it to the Support forum.
