I'm not familar with who he is. What is his relation to TTG, TFP, or 7D2D?

Fubar_prime is Prime from TFP. I'm not sure what else he's worked on, but when he was doing a Q&A before the A17E release he mentioned working on the Quest and Electricity systems.

Sorry, I was incorrect. I thought the 7D2D console port was not listed in the auction. I was corrected by Trey from Sherwood Partners today. The auction is complete and 7D2D console port was purchased. So someone owns it now, and Sherwood Partners said that buyer wanted to remain anonymous.
So no more need to talk about the auction as the asset was purchased. Sorry I misunderstood that 7D2D console port wasn't listed, it was actually sold. Now like lottery winners we will wait for some kind of announcement. Wonder who it will be........

Wonder how long we will have to wait for someone to tell us why they bought it and what their plans are for it.

Ironically, it is hard encourage anyone about this game with the total lack of info we get regarding 7D2D for console. If TFP truly "need to believe that there are a lot of console players who care" then we need to know that TFP really care about us. Talk with us, ask us questions. That way we would both have a better understanding of what is going on regarding 7D2D for console. As well as if some of us would be willing to purchase a DLC or updates so they know if "spending the kind of money it would take to continue the updates" is worth it. One of your previous posts says to just assume the game isn't going to be updated. So no info or mixed info leads to frustration.
In talking with Martin Goodichin (not sure I spelled his last night right) with Sherwood Partners (650-454-8001) who are handling the assignment for TTG. 7D2D for console isn't even an asset to be bought.

As another poster said, if we didn't care we wouldn't be posting in the console forums.

My original post where I talked to Sherwood Partners. I misunderstood my 1st conversation, with it not being listed. The 650 number is Sherwood Partners if you don’t believe me look it up via google. I had to leave a dozen messages, and I did send a few emails to their [email protected] email address on their website, which you can also find via google.

If you don’t believe me call them and leave a few message about the assignment and you will get a call back. I called to see if I could bid on the 7D2D console port. I guess it is possible Martin or Trey could have been lying to me, but they seemed like legit lawyers and answered some of my questions. Includeing did someone purchase 7D2D for console. Trey said yes, and that the purchaser wanted to remain anonymous otherwise I would have said who bought it.

I am just hoping to find out one way or the other what is going to happen.

 
@Freestyle604, thank you for posting that information. It's certainly interesting. I can only assume that it was not the TFP who secured the console port otherwise why be anonymous? If that's correct then I suppose it's now up to negotiations between the owner and TFP.

Either way, progress has been made, which is good, and I'm still crafting away at those zombies heads. :)

 
Lets hope its not EA who bought it. We'll have micro transactions like a mofo, lol.

On a serious not, lets hope the persons involved with the purchase does have plans to continue the project in one way or another.

 
For all we know, it could still have been TFP who purchased it. Keeping the information hidden is actually a good idea from a PR standpoint. That way they can announce the information when they have the full plan laid out and in place.

Look at it this way, even if they got the license, there is still legal issues to be hashed out, publishing rights, and a lot of talks with Iron Galaxy for continuing the project. (As I stated earlier, contract negotiations just for that could take months.)

....also sounds like its due time to release the 7th day horde....of lawyer zombies!!! A new ps4 exclusive zombie. That explains the delay. #speculation.

you debunk me; I just come to get this really important english subs, who dont understand 99% of my videos, I dont get money from ads because I have none or a donation because - yeah they dont understand me. but now its over all my dreams about conquer the world are over ...

in the title - uppercase - fun; fun is over - you "steal my rep point" nothing else.

i always support this game / community etc with my videos for free and didnt get anything for my hours of work ~ it's just offensive. sry that I am not so funny like "idk Prime"... at least it was a video about YOUR game, that is a better advertising than nothing and since I have post it I get less question about console ~ because I told them to wait ... lol

I close this chapter for me now, we know how it will ends.

Actually, I did watch that video. Unfortunately, it gave absolutely no information that isn't already here on the forums. Not surprising that it was considered click-bait. A link that is offered, yet holds no relevant information is useless at best. The whole comment on that video, claiming "I can't give any info about 7D2D, and would get in trouble if I did.", Does nothing for anyone looking for news. It was nothing more than a useless link to a video, in an attempt to gain extra views, and maybe a few extra subscribers.

 
I will never again buy a game from "The Fun Pimps". Also, I do not need the PSN membership anymore because the game is dead for console players. I can understand Playstation Network if they ban such games from your marketplace. Meanwhile, I've learned to hate the game through its constant crashes.

 
nbsbeaker do not try and ruin any chance for the other gamers with working copies of the game that actually still enjoy it to have a chance for updates, and honestly if 7dtd was the only reason you maintained a ps plus account you have missed out of a veritable mountain of games of excellent quality from other companies. Rather shocking short view I must say.

I got a reply from, Nate McOmber at Sherwood Partners, to my enquiry regarding the console rights.

They are still not able to disclose the buyer but did confirm the sale of the rights.

So someone in the gaming business believes the console port is worth something. Let hope it is someone how actually wants to do something with it, and that they can work out something with people who can actually do the console coding work.

Thank you for confirming my post. It is hard to prove phone calls or emails, but if you are persistent you can get “public” answers. I agree someone thinks there is value. I just don’t see where a for profit business would spend money for game code on a console that seems to have pretty limited upside with “new revenue”.

Once again really hope to be wrong, but back to the closet. Maybe if we let this thread go quiet for a few days the new owner might actually post, or even TFP. As if the new owner of this code wants to do any kind of update, they will need TFP to allow them. I know someone is going to cry about something, but once again some of us are actually adults. :)

The video is Jade PG talking about info collected on TTG, TFP, IG and 7D2D for console, and his thoughts on where 7D2D console and any updates.

Sometimes the lack of info is info itself.

So thinking out loud with NO INFO to backup my thinking....

What if, TFP did buy the rights from the TTG auction, and with the PC version going gold in 2019. TFP go with IG to release 7D2D as a new game. The new game because it will take it to the same version as the PC version. TFP should have a rough idea of how many console versions were sold. Figure you will lose some who didn’t like the game to begin with, and bitter people. The group who really like the game but wanted an update would likely be the ones who pony up, with the new game and as much content as the console hardware can handle as it would likely feel like a new game anyways.

Of course there are lots of variables I don’t know so maybe it isn’t even possible. But when you know there is a chance, it is really nice to hear from the people we are all waiting to hear from. Even if it isn’t 100%.

Once again just me thinking out loud.

 
Nice post FreeStyle. It's certainly feasible that TFP could release a "Gold" version of the game as an enhanced (with the newer Unity engine) new game. As long as they retained the split screen co-op I'd rebuy it.

I wonder if a number of us politely private messaged the account and asked for an update, they might actually give us some information.

Even if it is a "sorry we cant talk about it" it would be a something.

they gave us an update two weeks ago. nothing but they will tell as a soon as there is any news.

they're not gonna slip you some inside scoop because you get a bunch of people to PM them.

there's no news until there's news and they'll tell us when there is.
