Proposal

Please add some life to this beautiful game! Here is my suggestion:

Add Survivors that players can encounter in random locations or buildings, with their levels scaled to the player’s current level.

After a short interaction or dialogue, we would receive a mini-quest to escort them to the nearest trader, where they can find a new home. Each of these characters would then specialize in crafting specific items for the player for free (e.g., ammo, scavenging scrap, cooking, etc.).

Sometimes they could teach us a new special recipe, and other times they might reveal the location of a secret cache containing a unique treasure that can only be obtained through them.

I believe this would breathe a lot of life into the game and provide many new, engaging interactions.

If this has already been discussed, feel free to bin it.
 
I'd even just take other survivors in the world that you can't interact with aside from maybe basic dialog- no quests needed. They could appear randomly or as scripted events (as part of their upcoming event system) where they may be under attack from bandits or being chased by zombies or just randomly roaming the world. They'd pose no threat to the player, but can be killed by the player and would become aggressive if you attacked them. They'd yield little to no resources. As a bonus, it might be cool if you could trade with them from a basic inventory.
