Suggestion: Heat Toggle For Screamer Summon

With all of the new togglable things that are looking at being added for the sandbox mode, will one of them be an option to decide at which heat level screamers will spawn? My concept is that it would be a percentage based toggle that would determine at what point the heat would need to reach in order to summon a screamer. There'd be 25% (current default), 50%, 75%, 100% (original default), and off. Off would mean screamers don't spawn at all from heat generation.

I'd be nice if this option were added to the regular game too. I absolutely despise mining (which is something I used to enjoy) due to the rate at which it spawns screamers. My last mining run, I had what I thought were two screamers get summoned above me. They called a group and proceeded to dig down to where I was. Turns out, once they made it to me, there was an entire horde night sized mob up top that literally kept pouring in through that hole non-stop until I died. I checked the console after my death and saw that 62 zombies were left behind when I died, and I'd killed 5 big groups previous to that. It's to the point to where if I wasn't playing on a MP server, I'd turn zombies off completely anytime I had to mine.

I like this idea, even if I would not use it myself. The more toggles we have, the better we can suit the game to our preferred experiences!

Do you sneak/stealth while you mine? If you did not know, sneaking/stealthing when you mine reduces heat generation. :)

They've become such a nusance, I'm using a mod to remove them altogether while I test. They lost their special status when they were used to trigger instances they weren't triggering before rather than using tripwires that can be disarmed and the like fo increase the frequency of those instances. Wight has lost his special status as well. For the good of the game, it'd be nice if they were to get their special status back, imo. A slider might do the job for Screamer, but not Wight. He's just used so frequently, he's become just like any other zombie except with a little more health.

They never really bother me while mining, but one thing you can do if they do bother you is to just craft some spike traps and put them around the mine hole. Unless you're higher level and getting higher tier screamers, they'll die easily on the spike traps without calling anyone. And after they are killed, it is a minimum of 21 real minutes before they can spawn again in the same area. Plenty of time to do some mining and then they'll kill themselves again when they do spawn.

yes please! Tired from this dumb mechanic! Imho screamers could be used better than this

Yep. I know how to "quiet" mine. That's why I was surprised when I got the reaction I did from the screamer(s).

I do dislike that the screamer has lost her special status too. It used to be an event to see her show up. When it comes to Wights, the only one I've seen that's out of character is the one that can spawn at a certain car shop in the forest location.

Good to hear. I hope they continue not to bother you while mining so you can tell me what it is that you're doing right. And that whole 21 minute respawn thing that's supposed to be real it's not. How else would you explain a whole horde night dump on my head?

If you don't kill them, they'll keep calling others. You have to kill them quickly to prevent others from being called. The spike traps do that. Afterwards, they aren't going to spawn again right away if you are in the same location. If you're not interested in the advice, that's up to you. I was offering a way to not have to deal with them.

Apologies if I came across as rude or dismissive earlier. I know about killing screamers fast so they can't bring in more friends. What I was trying to convey is that I could put spike traps by the entrance to the mine, but what if I'm not by that entrance when the screamer(s) arrive? The screamer(s) will attempt to dig down at the location where I'm actually at versus going over to where the entrance and spike traps are. This has come from my personal experience where I've built an entrance specifically to give the screamer(s)/zombies a direct way in, and they'll still choose to dig.

The 21 minute screamer cooldown not working is also from personal experience. I've had plenty of times where a screamer(s) will be summoned in, killed, and few minutes later here comes another 1 (or 2), which I'll kill again, only to have a final 1 or 2 get summoned after that. Then the 21 minute cooldown finally kicked in and decided to work.
