Suggestion: Cartography Table

I play exclusively co-op with a regular group on RWG these days. This suggestion is basically for that setup.

A Cartography Table is a craftable item. When you interact with it, any parts of the map that you have uncovered are added to an ongoing map on the table. Additionally, any uncovered map areas that other players have added to the table and which are unknown to you, are added to your personal map.

Just a little thing to help co-op groups share the massive map.

Also, how about a comedy sound byte that occasionally plays when you are near to a player who has Dysentery or Snow Berry Poisoning?

 
Or just do it like they did it in DST, which is basically same thing, but with tiny bit more effort.

 
Or just automatically update everyone's map that's in your group.

What I'd most like to see for the maps, SP and MP, is the ability to add notes to the markers, at least a couple hundred characters, so I can remember what I was going to do or what I stored.

 
Yup! Notes to the markers would help... But what I would like even more is a map that doesn't disappear because I've been through that area 10 billion times...

that's a fantastic idea

for the sake of easy implementation or if it is not possible to display the actual map in a frame ingame, make it a map-frame to put on the wall (like a picture), maybe 2x2 blocks in size and with a static predefined pixely picture which doesn't have to represent the actual map but at least as an item brings the function mentioned above.

such maps could also be added to certain POIs (i.e. pharmatower, shack in the woods), revealing a portion of the map (maybe the town in which the POI stands or a random portion of land)....just tossing some ideas :D
