I have been trying to connect to the server my friend is hosting but i get stuck on the "Connecting to server" screen, its not just me it is also 2 other people who encounter this issue. I've tried restarting my pc, launching the game through the launcher, connecting through steam and connecting through ip but none of them worked! it also shows that the servers port is -1!

Had this problem when I was first learning how to set up a server.
Firstly, try to ensure your serverconfig.xml file is set up properly. If your config file is set up properly and if your world is of massive size; I've found waiting for the server to load it all into memory can take quite some time for first start. My dedi took about ~20 minutes to completely load the world (8192 size world); so I'd guess wait about 20-30 minutes and then try to get into the server.
