PC Stamina drain just to aim?

Why? (Please don't respond with "Why not?"
Because it wouldn't be 7 Days to No Stamina without that feature lol. Joking aside, I have no idea why they want stamina tied to everything in this version.

Realism?

Have you ever shot a bow? I can assure you that you will only hold the draw for a limited amount of time and generally the longer you hold the less accurate your shot will be. The effect is also there while aiming a rifle (especially while standing with no crutch) albeit to lesser degree so maybe it could be lowered on those types of weapons.

I bow and rifle hunt IRL, have for years. Bow hunting does require strength to draw and hold, but rifle hunting is EZPZ... handguns are the easiest tbh.

Agreed, so from a realism standpoint gun aiming could be lowered. Either way I have not found the mechanic limiting or problematic. The stamina drain from swinging my club however has gotten me in some bad spots (dang power attack lol)

I understand a bow, I don't understand everything else.

My guess is to balance things with melee and have some added risk to aiming since Zs are running slower now and you'd simply kite them with a gun.

isn't there a perk to fix that?!

aiming a rifle (depending on rifle) would get taxing to hold it up for a long time. I assume, not sure because I modded the nonsense stam loss out, but the more you put in skills and perks it probably drains slower.

Remember this isn't you playing any more, it's some nub that has no skills, no brains, no stamina, no strength, and you need to build this poor nub up so he's a warrior of strength, stam and intellect.

It's what you never wanted but now have. :)

I have aimed a rifle before and holding your breath only works for a limited time, at least for me.

Do you actually fire real guns?

See this is why I'm not upset to see Stamina Drain attached to aiming.

That's SO how it is irl.

I can fire a handgun and look cool and all... but I won't hit the target a single time. Seriously.... not once.

If I actually want to hit I find it takes all my concentration .... and that takes energy.

So.... I'm not upset with this mechanic at all.

I'm just not sure it needs to be that much from a strictly game-play mechanic.

Then again.... the counter to that is "There are perks that make it better."

Can't argue with that.

Just pointing out from a realism standpoint, it makes total sense to have a fair amount of stam drain on the wooden longbow, but a compound bow requires much less effort to keep drawn. That's one of the main benefits of a compound bow.

Yeah. People get some really interesting ideas from movies. ;)

I've fired the Deutsche Bundeswehr inventory up to the MG3 and can confidently laugh at anyone attempting to fire one standing up and hit a target. That's not how reality works.

I mean, sure. Statistically. Eventually. If you don't run out of ammo.

Accurately aiming smaller weapons, even a .22, also takes energy, concentration, breath.

I don't mind if people mod this "horribly flawed mechanic" out, sitting in their comfy chair while their character does one hour of parkour while doing dead accurate headshots. If that's their idea of fun, that works for me. ;)

I don't mind having Stamina drain for aiming but right now it's draining too fast.
I play almost entirely with ranged weapons, and I can't say I've ever even noticed an appreciable drain from aiming. I stop aiming more because I've heard it drains stamina and feel like I shouldn't waste it when there's nothing to shoot at, not because the actual real drain is an issue. I've even accidentally switched into continuous aim mode and only left it because it was making me move so slowly. As a ranged character I've never once thought I actually needed to pay attention to my stamina in combat.

Hahaha unless you're a millionaire you'll always run out of ammo.

Not that I'm complaining.

China makes a lot of decent ammo for cheap.

I was way worse in the 80's to buy ammo.

Shouldn't the compound bow require far less stamina than the longbow to hold...
Yes it should.

My compound bow can be fired by a child.

I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle for TFP to code this but I would appreciate it if they did.
