Spear slow doesn’t work properly

Version
2.6 Stable
Platform
Windows
While playing with the spear, I noticed this bug a long time ago. Here I did a test to demonstrate it. With Spear Mastery level 5, I noticed that the slow effect provided by this perk (100% on strong attack) does not work as it should.

There is often a chance for zombies to start limping, but this is not mentioned anywhere in the perk description. Sometimes the effect works over time, sometimes it doesn’t work at all, or only minimally. From what I’ve observed, as shown in the video, the slow effect did activate when I hit them.

Sometimes, during this test, all four zombies I spawned immediately started limping after being hit with a strong attack, even though this is not mentioned anywhere. As you can see, when they jumped onto something, they immediately started limping, and when they went under something, they started running again, but were still slowed.

This seems to work similarly to when we knock down an enemy once they lose a certain amount of health and get back up, they return to normal running.

I’m not sure how this perk is supposed to work exactly, especially regarding the limping effect, since it is not described anywhere.

Reproduction Steps
1. Use a spear with Spear Mastery level 5 (100% slow on strong attack).
2. Hit zombies with strong attacks.
3. Make zombies jump onto something.
4. Notice that they start limping after the jump.
5. Then make them move under an object.
6. Notice that they return to normal running.

The slowing effect that’s supposed to work 100% doesn’t always work sometimes it appears after a while, and limping, which shouldn’t happen, sometimes occurs, but always shows up after a jump.

Hello,

Got it! What is happening here is that buffInjuryCrippled01 only applies the limp animation after the zombie jumps. Once the zombie crouches, the animation does not get reapplied, which is why the limp stops showing.

I've logged a ticket in our bug tracking software so the programmers can take a look.

Thanks,
Dollie
