Sound mod to make some of the audio louder?

I was wondering, if there was, or if there isn't, if someone can make some adjustments to the volume of the sounds in the game. I find some things are too loud and while other things are just too quiet. The actual ambience is pretty loud and then you have your footstep noises, the sound of your club axe hitting rocks, ect just too quiet. If someone can beef up those sounds, I'd much appreciate it!

Yeah that would be great! It should be safety sounds (zombie footsteps, dogs/wolf sounds etc) >> functional sounds (weapon/tools making contact, crafting completing and the like) >> cosmetic sounds. Right now many cosmetic sounds are ridiculously loud, like the weird synthesizer stuff you hear at night. And the audio options don't really allow you to rebalance them in a satisfactory way.

Hum, I don't think that will be possible cause there are so many value to change & I think there's 656 sound so...
Quantity has nothing to do with whats possible.
All the sound attributes in sounds.xml seems to only impact AI. Other than AI purposes, its all pretty much useless. I've tested increasing volumes for generator bank and there was no audible difference. The audible volume level is either hardcoded or limited to the sound file it self. I dont think theres as way to modify volume without patching game dlls or editing the sound files and getting an EAC violation.

My rant: Annoys me this game after all these years still has poorly simulated acoustics and remains unchangeable. It doesn't use proper attenuation code as other games do. Originally sounds were too loud, people complained about how bears could be heard at full volume long distance. TFP rolled out an audio update and botched it an other way, now too quiet and sometime wont hear something until you're almost on top of it. To hear many of the sounds I have to crank up my speakers but then an auger sound plays and blows up my speakers. I doubt TFP have an interest in updating the audio code again with an actual fix all solution.
