Sound Issues

I'm running Windows 10 with all the most recent updates.

This issue seems to have cropped up in the last couple days.

Being in the game for more then 10 minutes causes all the sounds on my PC to stop, the minute I exit the game it is fine

Things I have tried, All with same result

Wired headset connected to both the speakers and directly to the computer

Bluetooth headset - worked fine and never caused sounds to go wonky however the minute I brought it back to the speakers all sounds were off until I was out of game :(

I would like to know what caused this and other things to try.

Also game has been on the hard drive and an external drive reinstalled the game and verified files many times.

Sounds like an issue with the audio configuration or driver. Can't say I've ever run into this otherwise.

Is the audio device you want the game to play through set as default?

Have you un-ticked both of the options for "Exclusive mode" in the Advanced settings tab of the device properties?

When Im looking at graphic drivers is it the Display Adapters area Im looking at

?

Update both Audio and Graphics drivers

still persists :(

A couple of questions since I have encountered a similar issue.

1.) Is is all sound and not just 7d2d? By that I mean, do system sounds still play? If you open a site like youtube, can you hear that?

2.) Are you launching through a desktop shortcut or by using Steam directly?

3.) Does the problem affect all Steam games?

If you have sound other than 7d2d and other Steam games and are opening through a desktop shortcut, try opening the launcher through Steam instead. I have absolutely no idea why, but this clears up the issue for me the majority of the time. Occasionally, I will still have sound drop, but if I close the game and then re-open it through Steam, it works just fine.

I loose all windows sounds and I open everything thru steam and it only seems to be 7 days and when I exit game all my sounds come back :( Really strange

Maybe there's a conflict with your audio drivers. I would try disabling all but one of your sound devices. For example, disable the hdmi and bluetooth audio devices and use the onboard audio device.

I try both headsets and my speakers and it looks like its all the same drivers. I just don't understand why it started out of no where around the same time as 17.2 but the only thing that messes with the audio is 7 days no other games and when Im out of the game things are fine so this is weird.

The bluetooth, hdmi, and onboard audio are three different audio drivers. It sounds like the issue is with your onboard drivers, which would

be the motherboard audio. Disable the bluetooth and hdmi drivers, and see if you still have the problem. If so, see what driver version you have and check if a new one is available. What chipset is the onboard audio using? It's likely VIA or Realtek. Once you identify it, you can check for and install the latest driver.

I also wonder if your issue is heat related. Maybe the chip is in a spot on the motherboard that is getting hot when playing 7D2D.

Was there ever a fix for this? I am experiencing the same issue with bluetooth sound. I have sound with all other apps, and even with the 7d2d main menu. As soon as the map loads, all sound stops. When I exit to the 7d2d main menu, sound comes back. Load a map, and sound cuts out again.

I've never been able to replicate the issue. I can only assume it's a problem with audio driver selection, or 3rd party software for the driver that isn't compatible with Unity.

update: I can get sound to work if I choose 'Headset (WH-1000XM3 Hands-Free AG Audio)" as the output device. This is the input device, and has only mono sound output to the headphones. I've played around with every combination of output/input devices, and I can't get stereo sound on the headphones.

The bluetooth stereo sound used to work about 10% of the time before, with 'default' as the device approximately 1 in 10.

If I open the advanced sound settings (App volume and device preferences) and choose the ...Hands-Free device, I get audio every time, but only mono.

A year later , I still had no resolve for this aside from using a bluetooth speaker which is good and bad and Im curious as to why and did anyone ever figure out anything that worked

Hi mate just came across this as I was having the same problem it's probably nothing to do with you. Mine turned out to be a generator I installed with a shotgun turret was causing a delay with firing weapons and closing doors. Maybe its the same thing?

I have pinpointed its something between Realtek and Unity Engine but how to fix or anything I can do not sure what

Yeah, I have the same problem, I found that turning my generators off and then on again will fix it for a few minutes. It has something to do with the shotgun turrets for some reason.
