I decided recently.. i've always wanted a base in the snowy forest.. so i decided to say goodbye to my main base. it was saddening, however i wanna do more with my world. i moved my work stations, i took lower tier items. and i need ideas, it is day 85? (i forgot) i need good survivalist skill points. anyone else who lives in the snowy forest, can you give me your skill sets? basically, just screenshots of what skills you use. Like i maxxed out Living off of the land, Archery, and that one for animal hunting.  (God i wish i didn't burden you guys' with so many questions)

Hmm, spec wise the biomes don't really differ from one another, they're just upping the difficulty of the enemies. Winter has plenty of lumberjacks, cougars and bears - as long as you can reliably deal with that wildlife, it doesn't really demand anything specific. Which means, any spec is as good as it would be in any other biome. Pick a weapon, max that out, then go for whatever secondaries you like, like Run & Gun.

If you feel you want some of the utilities (cooking faster etc), feel free, but those are always relatively weak for surviving; the threat in this game is in the mobs. So i can't in good conscience advice taking them for any "good" spec.

Agreed.  Biome doesn't really matter for perks.  If you are day 85, you should have no trouble killing things in that biome.  At worst, you might have trouble on horde nights, depending on what you have for equipment and perks.  But the perks you'd need are pretty much weapon perks.  Nothing else really matters in terms of survival.  Snow is just a higher game stage and different animals (and lumberjack being seen more often).  Nothing more.  Well... other than how it looks.

Nothing that the two previous posters said other than this.  If you want to spice it up, do a hard reset and try and start off in the snow biome as soon as you can.  You feel the biome changes the most early game.  Upside to Snow biome in the beginning is that if you have the arrows and your head on the swivel you will never be hungry.  Downside is those kitties and bears fight back better than the chickens and deer in the forest!

I haven't leveled up archery or hunting since A17. The bow is only interesting if you level up stealth, otherwise it's too weak. And I don't see any point in hunting at all.

The only good thing about the winter binomial is that there's snow, which you can make smoothies out of. There are also a lot of pumas and bears, from which you can get a lot of meat and bones.
