So Are They Lying About the Game Being Full Release?

With The Fun Pimps actively going JaWoodle for "releasing early access content" too early, how can this game be considered "Full Release". Internally (shown through emails they have sent to JaWoodle) they reference Early Access content. So if they are calling parts of the game Early Access how is it they are able to state the game is "Full Release" or finished? The disgusting behavior displayed for a mistake you made leads one to believe you guys are just flat out dishonest. Wish Steam had an option to report games for falsely releasing a game into Full Release for the purpose of removing the Early Access tag. Absolutely abysmal behavior on your guy's part, your entire team should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

Is quite simple: the released game is public, the content in development is not.
The dispute is over content that was "privately released" to be published at a future date.

...pretty sure in this context, early access referred to the streamer weekend event.
That is still early access content in what is supposed to be a full release game

The dispute is over JaWoodle not bending over backwards, eating the cost of his time, to save face for TFP mistake. Early access is early access

That's a specifically hostile way to describe the same thing ;)
I myself would've taken the vid down; but I have no ill will for Woodie not doing so. No point in fighting me ;)

Sigh... You can go back and look at the original Kickstarter for the game. It very clearly states not all content will come before the game releases. Just because not all intended content is in the game doesn't make the game early access. No other game ever added additional content after release? You obviously just wanna hate on TFP, it's very obvious based on your recent posts. If you hate TFP then just don't play the game and don't visit the forums.

isn't that gate keeping?

I would have too if they provided compensation for their mistake and my time. It's his job he isn't obligated to take money out of his pocket to appease their ego/embarrassment.

I think it is

The kickstarter was for Alpha and stopped when it released into EA. It was released in to EA as you said above. Full release is a separate topic and not related to the Terms of the Kickstarter. Thanks for the incorrection though!

That's basically Woodle's take as well, if I understood him correctly. Or at least some sort of public acknowledgement of fault.

I'd have viewed it as a cost of maintaining good relationships with the dev; it would suck, but ongoing relationships aren't always rosy. That would clearly be going beyond the agreement they actually have, so I ain't complaining; but there's more values than contract law :)

You know that it only take a VERY little amount of time or effort to cut a scene from a video, right? It wouldn't cost him anything to do so. He wouldn't have to take the video down unless the video was only about the thing(s) that weren't public yet. But he chose to ruin his relations with TFP. That's his choice. If they want to make it a legal issue, that is their right. Just as it was his choice not to do as asked, knowing that there would be consequences for his decision. I don't care what he does... I doubt anyone but TFP cares. Posting hate here for him won't do anything. We really don't care about the consequences for his actions. It was his choice. He has to live with it. Crying about it or sending people out to cry for him won't change a thing.

He's just manipulating things for his own benefit. He knows that the more of an issue he makes of it, the more people will end up looking at his video (making him money) just to see what the fuss is about, if nothing else. Personally, I refuse to take that bait from him or anyone else. I won't help him make money by listening to him cry over his own actions.

you are not the only person that has had some statement, no where clear as yours, but, leaning the same direction, that they have not seen the video, but, their opinion is pretty certainly set.

I still want to see something from TFP/BHVR...I in no way think they have to...I get that some people are going to say that stuff over and over "they don't have to" or some variant of "it's their IP"...I am not a Lawyer or a content creator...there's a lot of stuff "we" are not privy to (not accusing you of this...just inoculating my statement lol)

I think this is a sad self own, by all parties involved, in their own way, that will end up costing all of them more than it ever should have.

"Cut a scene", maybe. YT has tools for that, afaik. But in that case he'd have to comb through the entire video, looking for things he yaps about, too. Decide on every utterance whether that's a reveal. He's a yappy boy. Then, when everything is cleaned, he'd have to re-edit it to have it make sense. Probably record a couple joining parts, or at least an announcement for the choppy nature. And make a new thumbnail, title, theme for the video. It's hours of work for that specific one.

Still not that bad, perhaps. But it's also a really time-sensitive video, people have been expecting the drop and there's massive competition going on. If he doesn't have one up, GNS does, and that's good enough for a lot of people. Plus, it's happening in the time he's planned to be actively streaming, cutting not only into the video, but also disappointing his regular stream audience by failing to stream as planned.

I can easily see how he would choose to do what he did, stream. And after the stream, it's basically too late anyway.
That's probably not all, but that's why I can't judge him too harshly ...

Lol. He already put the time onto making the video. Forcing him to change the core contents of the video, would harm the possibility/amount of revenue he could earn. He'd have to change his thumbnail, which could/would harm viewership possibilities. He would be losing money because TFP couldn't send him the right key. TFP "knew" the risk of sending out EA content with little to no NDA in place, THEY made their choice why dont you expect THEM to live with it. Not his fault they sent him the wrong one and not his fault that unwanted content was uploaded either. He did exactly what he has done with everyone of these events: Get Build, Redord and play Build, then upload content from the new build.

Are you intentionally being dense or does it come naturally? Not sure if I can explain it better than it already has at this point.

If you take out the emotional statements and stick with facts then let's look at the same statement.

TFP accidentally sent the wrong version. Woodle posted it. They asked for it to be edited or removed as it wasn't ready for release. He refused. Doesn't sound as evil now.

And now he will earn less money because he has no access to early release content. That's a bold strategy cotton let's see if it pays off for him.

Of course having to delete or edit the video would affect how much he would earn from it. If you are getting a cease and desist letter from a party's lawyer to stop selling copyrighted content, your future revenue stream from selling this copyrighted material would stop, too. That's simply how the world works. TFP owns the proprietary code that JaWoodle publicly disclosed and monetized through his video. He didn't own all the content of the video, hence he is not legally allowed to earn money from it. He is basically infringing on other's IP. He should just be happy he was able to earn some money from it before he was asked to stop.

In fairness, if it turns out JaWoodle spent more money making the video then he earned from it before it was taken down, then TFP could have offered to cover that balance. After all, they made the mistake to begin with and he might not have realized he shouldn't have made it public. I think that would be a nice diplomatic gesture. Then JaWoodle wouldn't suffer financially from the whole thing. But as it is, I would be surprised if he hasn't actually benefitted financially, both from the video itself before it was taken down and now from follow-up videos. Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised if he has people paying him directly to get exclusive content of watching him play computer games :D
