PC Snow treasure and Aldo's Cabinet Ideas

Hi Guys,

Two questions, I'm digging for treasure in the snow, is the usual 2 blocks deep channel okay or do I have to dig down through the snow to get to the dirt?

Aaaaand while I'm here, I've set up base at Aldo's Cabinets (Navezgane map) in the group of shops east of the western trader in the pine forest (same group has the pawn broker and bear tavern and bakery). Got a real nice fall trap using the mountains across to the roof of Aldo's but after some ideas on how to fortify/setup the building. Anyone else done this POI up?

 
1) From my experience, it doesn't matter what the material is; snow, dirt, sand, wasteland rubble, the treasure chests are always 2-3 blocks from the surface.

2) Never upgraded that POI. Sorry. My only A17 stable game on the Nave map was from the Bombshelter in the Burnt forest NW of Gravestown across from the Cell tower. I started a new Ran Gen game after day 100. I know the location you are talking about. With 2 traders within walking distance, plenty of wood and the saw at Alto's and with luck, a working bench and or forge at either traders, you have a potentially great location. Good luck
